We went out Saturday, probably the most expensive 150 miles we ever rode. Spent $12 on gas, $40 on lunch, stopped by a motorsports store and accidentally dropped the deposit on an 18’ aluminum fishing/hunting boat. 😱😱😱. We just planned to look and pick out something to put on our wish list and start saving for. B41EEB7E-D138-4E28-824C-1D53FF5AF645.thumb.jpeg.1e8c94892e4b2ecfac5337713efecace.jpeg

    What boat?? I don't see a boat.

Has a real bite. All natural ingredients and made by Nickle Brook Brewery right here in Burlington Ontario. They are a privately owned micro brewery that also brews a variety of craft beers.

I bet it tastes really good.  I might need to get my passport renewed. It seems like a good share of micro breweries make root beer as well.  Maybe we need to have a 'Root Beer Rally' where everyone packs a case of Root Beer along to the rally for a 'tasting' with all the different brands. Hmmm...

Don't drink it much, but I used to really like A&W.

A&W is good in bottles, but best on tap when you could find an A&W restaurant / drive in. Frosted mug... yum.

Last week I was at Cracker Barrel and brought home a Bundaberg (Australian?) and a Diet Dad's Root Beer.

I am hoping to find a great root beer.

  4. I'm pretty sure that there are a few Root Beer aficionados in this group, so I pose the question -

What is your favorite Root Beer??

Bottled and where is it available??

On tap and where is it available??

    Inquiring minds want to know...

  5. The Show Chrome light bar is beautifully made, but - for those of you who have it - did you use the 62-112T Turn Signal Adapter from Show Chrome or did you do something else for front turn signals?

When I close my eyes to go to sleep I keep hearing jet aircraft flying.

I get it... it drives my wife crazy that I can have the tv going and play a video at the same time. I told her it helps to drown out the hi pitch squeal i hear 24/7.

I don’t think so.  The conversion is done because it is said to improve handling.  My only experience with it was on a trike and it definitely improved handling.  Did not lower the front.  I think the handling difference is a combination of a narrower tire and less weight.

Ok, so skinnier handles better - even if it it near the same height... right?

  8. In reading the different posts regarding tire size vs handling - I have a question... Does going from the 150-/80 -16 to the 130/ 80-16 make a difference in handling because it is skinnier or because it is shorter??

If it is because it is shorter (and lowers the front a smidge), can't it be replaced with a 150/60 or a 150/50 (provided they are available)??

  9. I have never liked how little lighting the RSV (or most bikes) have from the rear.

I picked up a LED light board that acts as tail light, brake light and turn signals to replace the bulb in the housing. I also have a light strip to add to the back lower trunk that is supposed to act the same way. Before I lay under the rear of the bike, can anyone here tell me what to look for in wiring it up? I'm not a total idiot (most days) but am terrible at reading wiring diagrams.

  10. This week I met with RDawson and picked up one of his lift adapter w/ legs.

First, he is a great guy and fabricator.

Today, I was able to put the lift to use.

It is extremely well made and simple to use. Since this was my first time to lift my RSV, it took a bit of gentle persuasion to get the rod thru the second tab on the underside of the bike. Once in, tap it thru and lift away. Bolt on the legs (perfect fit) and lower it onto the legs. It is now sitting rock steady and solidly elevated and ready for service.

Thanks Ronnie. My only regret is not getting it sooner.

  11. I have a 2010 RSV and I'm not sure what I would ride next... I'd love to try out a Victory Vision - it looks like fun. I've also never ridden a Gold wing, but I might be getting close to being old enough to try.

I was thinking like how about like before the crash ... or Venture West One, back then!

I think I still have the pics from Venture West One of a Hdhtr watering the desert...

Do you still have the old phone (916 area code)?
