  1. Sorry to hear about this. If you find out she doesn't have insurance you would still be able to collect under your uninsured motorist protection - assuming you carry it of course. Many policies require you either file a police report of have an independent witness to the event. Sounds like you have both (if you count the video as an independent witness). In many states it's an optional coverage and many bikers that I talk to simply choose not to pay the extra premium for it. Good luck and I hope you get everything taken care of quickly.

  2. For all of you that visited the Biltmore while in Ashville and paid by credit card.....BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR STATEMENT. I got my bill yesterday only to learn that they triple charged me for 1 ticket. I had the receipt for my one ticket and they then ran my card through 2 more times. :puzzled:  .....They must have thought I was seriouis when I said that Riderduke was my spouse and Muffinman was my mistress (it was a family outing). :hihi:

  3. I also downshift (engine brake) while slowing. Be sure to remember not to apply the rear brake too much as you may overbrake on the rear tire to skid. This is especially true in wet weather. When I engine brake I let off of the rear brake until the gear has been engaged.

    There's my 2 cents. :missingtooth:

  4. I had gone to the same dealer in 2005 and put money down on a Venture. I even purchased @1500 in accessories from them that they were to put on the bike. They told me my new bike would be in the shop in a couple of weeks. I waited and waited on the bike. Every time I called I got different stories about the delays. As you can imagine I wanted my new bike. When it finally made it to an Atlanta warehouse they told me it would be another 7 days for it to reach their dealership (Atlanta is 36 miles to the south). The whole time I was waiting on the bike (at this point it had been over a month) I asked them why they just didn't get one from another local dealer instead of making me wait a month. They told me they just couldn't do that. After being fed up I walked into the store, very pissed off, got my money back and drove to another dealer @60 miles away and bought a Venture right off the floor. In the long run Lawrenceville Honda lost my sale, lost the labor work to install all my chrome, etc and lost a customer. Sounds like they paid a high price if you ask me.

  5. Hey Kit,

Wanted to give you an update on my call to Luke at Yamaha. I called yesterday and left a message. Today I called again and got right through to him. He was very helpful and told me that Yamaha would replace my basket. I gave him the shop information where I wanted the work done and not 20 minutes later I got a call from the shop. Luke had already contacted them and set me up to have all the work done. This is a shop that normally has a 2-3 week wait to get work done. Well, I was able to get them the bike this Saturday and they should have all of the work done, along with one other small piece of warranty work, by the end of next week. Needless to say I am very pleased with the way things are going right now. Let's just hope that this cures my whine issues. Thanks so much Kit for the work that you did on this.

  6. I run about 40 in the rear shocks and usually 0 in the front. I had a 6 CD changer in the left saddle bag that I removed to balance out the bike. This helped some but as time went on the wobble got worse. Reading many threads about this I have tried so many different home remedies that have done nothing. I must have done something bad in a previous life to get both the bad wobble and the very loud clutch whine.
