  1. I know Veteran's Day isn't til next month (November), but wanted to put this info out there for some planning purposes. If anyone knows of other Veteran's Day / Military Appreciation specials that our veterans (self included) can partake of, post it up here. And, to make it Motorcycle related.... maybe you can manage to ride your ride to one of these events.....

  4. Yep, Rick at www.buckeyeperformance.com has an upgrade stator for $239.00. I installed one last year and it works great.

    Higher Output Stator

    Yamaha RSV 99- & RSTD 05- XVZ1300

For those that have lots of lights and/or heated grips and clothing.

We have the fix to your barely adequate OEM stator supplies.

This stator is designed to give a higher output in the normal cruising range from 2000 to 3500 RPM's

The OEM stator spec output is 30 amps. During testing we've seen increased output to a peak of 55 amps. No core exchange is needed these are NEW units. Each order comes with installation gaskets included.

(Note: This unit requires hard wire (soldered) connection.

As of 11/01/07 the Research and Development RSV has over 7000 trouble free miles of real life testing with this stator.)

    Part # BP426-426-HOSTAT $239.00

    Many Thanks :smile5:

  5. I know its hot weather and no need for heated cloths, but I like to ride in cold weather too. My question is, does Yamaha make a heaver duty alternator? The reason is my bike will not keep the battery charged with my wife and I wearing our Gerbing's heated coats and gloves. Seems like a touring bike would provide ample power for heated cloths. Don't get me wrong I love my RSV and would not trade it for any other on the market. Any help in this matter would be a great help, I know ya'll are a great bunch of people and I'm honored to be a part of this forum. Mike

  6. Thanks for the reply. I like the valkyrie but never rode one, I've always had Honda's, my Venture is the first none Honda, I wouldn't trade it for any other bike out there, put 3,537 miles on it on a trip to Dodge City, Kansas. Thanks Gregg :thumbsup2:

  7. NCReb,

Did you paint the trailer yourself, or have someone do it for you? Just asking because my Neosho is due for a new paint job and I was curious about how much it might cost to have it done.

Yours looks great by the way. Did you check with Neosho to see about buying chrome rims? they used to have them for sale but I haven't been on their site for a long time.

Yea I painted the trailer, base coat clear coat, the blue matched to my 07 RSV was 147.00 for a pint. it comes in a qt. can and you finish filling it with thinner to make a quart of paint. I'm a sign maker by trade and by no means a professional painter, but base coat clear coat is forgiving so I gave it a shot. All total about 250.00 for the paint, strip, clear, sandpaper, and thinner. It came out pretty good. Thanks to the rest of you guys for the help.

  8. Just painted my trailer and sure would like to put some nice rims or mags on it. Anyone have any suggestions or links to 8" mags or chrome rims with 5 holes.

Here is a before and after picture.

  9. I have a store bought one with a swivel hitch, and know for a fact those little rims 8" in my case don't like curbs. I hit one at a very low speed and it did flip over and made us fall. We didn't get hurt and very slight damage to the bike. Back to your question, depending on what your hauling and weight you have in it, might take a little longer to stop, it does me anyway, just take that in consideration when braking. Be safe and shinny side up always.

  10. Man, I know what y'all bring to a knife fight. The 2nd Amendment is one I would die for. When I was in Memphis I met and talked to a nice guy from England and he said they took away all their guns years ago. He said he had a air rifle but had to keep it hid. (BUMMER) We don't know what we have untill we loose it. For anyone who likes guns the NRA if offering free membership at this time. I hope its OK to say that.
