  1. I have one installed on my RSV and really like it, for "traveling". I have to admit it is WORK riding it in the twisties and it does make the bike ride a little rough. I dislike both of those qualities. I do, though, also have a '98 RSTC that I can get out and play on. My RSV also has the VMax rear gears which to me is a must with the Voyager Kit. Another advantage to the Voyager is that the tongue weight is carried on the two voyager kit car tires. This is the second bike I've had with the conversion. The other being a Burgman Scooter. Some have mentioned alignment, I've had no problems with that. I like the fact that I can lock the rear bike tire and the bike will still slide in a straight line. It is a pretty good distance from your house to mine, but you are welcome to come down and take the bike for a test ride.

  2. I ordered one of the RSV replacement fuel pumps and it came with the needed 8mm fuel ports on it. Cost was $24.77 with shipping included. Shipping was fast.

Some pictures attached of the electrical end of the pump. It is almost the exact same layout as a stock RSV pump with one very good exception. The diode on the stock pump is much smaller and is located near the coil, the replacement unit has a much larger diode and it is in the electrical end where it is easier to replace if needed.

The ebay sellers ID is ultimatecomponents. Hover cursor over links and click., they don't seem to highlight since site upgrade on my computer.

    Listing for current auction is New Fuel Pump for 1996 2009 Yamaha XVZ13 XVZ1300 Royal Star 4NK 13907 00 00 | eBay

Couple of pictures of stock RSV pump I dissected also attached, one has failed diode pointed out.

The guy must have "seen the light" I just ordered one and it was $49.99, but free shipping...

  3. For those on the board who are using the Voyager Kit.... How are you dealing with your exhaust?? The RK's on the '04 come back and exit about 6" in front of the mounting plate. Am I the only one?? On mine I can imagine the exhaust fumes not only cooking the plate, but also circulating back up toward the cockpit. I have picked up a set of RK turn downs to correct, but wondered if anyone else had the same problem....

The rear plate for mine comes all the way across as well, I just left it off, for now. I have plans(don't we all) to cut a circular holes in the plate and weld a sheet metal "funnel" in there

    to get the exhaust out.

  4. I agree wit hour explanation tx2sturgis. I will say that I am kinda worried about the 55 mph rated tires that come on these though. Being said, I will be constantly checking the tires and axle bearings for heat or some abnormal wear. I still need to check the alignment of the trailer though as some have suggested. Once I understand the correct way of doing it.

I have been looking for and founds some chrome center caps and acorn nuts. Just have not ordered it. Thanks for the idea.

DISCLAIMER: This is my experience, not a recommendation.

After I load my Tag Along, (BTW I have 3oz of Ride-On in each tire) I air the tires up just enough so there is very little, if any sidewall deflection. The pressure then is generally around 23 psi. This has worked well for me. The 1st (cheap Chinese) tires that came with the trailer lasted well over 10,000 miles before I changed them. I ran them and their replacements at interstate speeds with no (so far) problems.

  5. Also I would STRONGLY suggest that one reinforce the left tail light mounting bar, if you mount your license tag there. Sometime in your trailer's life in moving it around, manually, you ARE going to lift the tongue too high and the tag will drag. When you do you will weaken the butt weld and sooner or later it will break. Thank goodness a kind cager flagged me down in Conroe, TX to tell me I was dragging a tail light by the wires.........

  6. As there is now discussion about the International for 2015, we thought we would let you folks' know that we are hoping to come back and see you next year !!!!! :sign yeah that::sign woo hoo::You_Rock_Emoticon:

Definite rally will be WNY Rally third week of August....... and we would hope to attend the International

So we got our fingers crossed for the dates :smile5:

Just in case, We'll leave the light on for ya!!!:bighug:

  7. TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) -- A federal grand jury has handed down indictments in a fatal motorcycle accident in Prentiss County on August 6.

Donnie William Sartain, 49, is charged with two counts of DUI-manslaughter and two counts of manslaughter in the deaths of Pauline Demers, 56, and Gerard Nault, 56, of Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada.

Court documents say Sartain was impaired when he was driving his pickup on the Parkway near mile marker 289 around 4:15 in the afternoon.

The truck crossed the center line and collided head-on with a motorcycle with Demers and Nault on board.

Sartain is currently free on a $10,000 bond.

He will be arraigned on the new charges Wednesday afternoon in U. S. District Court in Oxford.

Amazing he KILLED 2 people and is out on $10,000.00 bond... :(

I suspect at his new arraignment it will be substantially increased or totally revoked!

  8. ok so asied from the size of the carbs whats the difference between the 96 engine and the later ones ? are the cams the same ?

ect basically can i uprate the hp of a 96 easily ? aney one dun this ?

I believe the cams are different, the carbs are 28mm, as opposed to the RSV's 32mm, and the valves have single springs, as opposed to the RSV's double springs. I don't know if the intake and exhaust runners in the heads are different, or if the valves are different size.

  9. I just ordered a SnaggleSTUD for my newly acquired Garmin 2598 and now need to get a mount to for it. Has anyone tried one of these "waterproof" GPS mounts? They are relatively inexpensive and come with a handlebar clamp.

I have one of those. Lets just say it is VERY "water REPELLENT"! I'm happy with it. It has been on the RSV for several years with no problems so far. After a bad rain I have to open it up to let the condensation dry out. The little Nuvi, that has lived in there for a couple of years, is very seldom taken out and I have seen no ill effects.
