  1. Hey, I _just_ had this SAME issue with my 89VR. I had dash illumination, spedo and tach worked, temp gauge worked. Voltage, computer monitor, and flashers quit.

I found that the problem was right at the fuse box itself where the connection comes from the fuse and heads to everything. Mine fuse panel is NOT OEM from what I know (uses blade fuses). The moment I moved the connection everything worked. Next day was out on a ride and just before I got home same issue again. This time I made SURE the connection was solid and not had a problem since and that's 100+ miles ago.

Just a quick $0.02 for ya... :)[/QUOT. Thank you cpttrike 1 that was the problem, I replaced the fuse holder ( updated to the blade fuses and everything works again back on the road.

  2. Does anyone have a MK2 with a motor trike kit on it? I purchased a 86 that's supposed to have a motor trike kit on it, when I called motor trike with some questions about it there response was,,, Well we don't have anyone working here anymore that would have worked on the older models so they couldn't tell me any info it was looking for. I wanted to know what type of rear end was in it. Well I took it in to have new bearings and seals put in it to a specialty shop what they found was the rear end is from a earlier ford galexy about a 1974 model it has a 7 1/2" ring gear in it. They also told that the rear end is upside down, why would this be upside down??

  4. HELP my dash in my 90 is not working also the brake lights and turn signals are not working the only thing that works are the dash lights and speedo.what I have did to fix it so far, changed out the dash with my 86 same thing nothing worked, put the dash from the 90 in the 86 and worked fine.next checked for power have 12+volts into the plug-in on the back of the dash, also swapped out side stand switch, it would keep running with side stand down and in gear, also if I push the shift lever all the way down or lift it all the way up the computer monitor would come on also checked relays and are good.where do I go next ????

  6. Thanks for the help. I have a bearing puller and it wasn't bad at all they came off fairly easy. My concern now (and one of the main reasons for rebuilding it was the oil seal was bad) the seal that I took out had a metal jacket on it and the one in the kit does not. And fit really sloppy in the housing and very snug on the shafths is this OK or do I need to get a different seal if so I will just go to Napa and see if they can hook me up with the Wright one. Thanks again

  7. Been having issues with the fuel mileage the last 2 years on my 86 venture I have replaced the carbs last year with a set that was totaly rebuilt did the valve shims and had the carbs snyed. went thru the brakes no drag so this year going thru the ignition system.I checked coils primary and secondary primary were all at 3.3 ohms secondary was 12.77-13.03, wires were at.6 ohms, caps were at8.77-10.36. Pick up coil was at115.1-118.6 ohms. Now the pessure sensor was at 5.5 volts the manual spec says it should be at ABOUT 2.0 volts is this my problem do I need to replace it? Next I'm looking at replacing the TCI.Any more suggestion thanks for your help. Oh my mpg is around 30mpg +/- 2 +on a good day - on most of the others

  8. Here is update on my fuel pump issue. I installed new points. Seems to be working. My question is I have the inlet line hooked up the outlet is running to a gas can. Turn the key on it runs for about 5 Seconds and stops turn the key off and back on it will run for 5 Seconds and stop is this normal? I would think the pump should keep running until it builds up pressure.
