  1. I doesn't take the place of my Venture at all.....It makes a nice little hot rod and is a real kick in he butt to me. I have 124000 on the Venture and I'm taking it on a 2000 mile trip first week of May. I have a Miata and a HHR panel truck that I love.......All different types of stuff.

  2. At 1700 lbs. and 178 HP it really doesn't need a turbo for me. With the traction control off it smokes the tire in 3rd gear with no problem. With traction control on it still starts to spin in each of the first three gears. I've owned 5 Vettes and turned 16 in 1963 so I'm a muscle car guy. If you double the weight and double the HP that gives you the same weight and a little more HP than the very fast 66 Nova 327/350 hp that out ran big block Chevelles in those days...It's a blast to drive and when I picked it up with 2 miles on it I drove it home on I-75 110 miles and thought when I punched it in 3rd gear it felt a little flat. It took me a few days to figure out it was the traction control holding it back because it was trying to spin the tire! I told my wife it's going to be a TT machine. [Tires and Tickets] LOL

  3. Got a Polaris Slingshot SL 2 weeks ago. Weather hasn't been very good here in S.W. Ohio but I do have 600 miles on it already. I'm notorious for over thinking things and after a month of driving myself crazy I pulled the trigger. Not just because I have a new toy but it does everything even better than expected! Faster than I thought and man oh man does it get looks and people follow you every where! If you are passing someone on the highway and then want to change lanes think again....Cars will speed up and fill the hole you thought you had just to get a look. Even different bike friends didn't know such a critter existed! Jerry K Troy Ohio

  4. Karfreek you should go up in pressure to about 43-45 and you'll think you added power steering and get better wear. I have 122,000 miles and had one with 86,000 got totaled and I've ran Dunlop,Metzler 880's, and really liked about the last 5 sets of Venoms.....But all brands need 40+ lbs. to feel right to me. My tire guy has me ready to try the new Michelin....says they are bragging that you will get better mileage than any tire....Hard to beat Venoms for miles but I've had a couple tire belt problems. I f the Michelin last that long it will have to be hard and I'm curious about grip?

  5. A couple months ago I had my mechanic do valve cover gaskets, carb boots and adjust valves. All that work is fine and covers aren't leaking.

But I have an oil leak that follows the kickstand and exhaust and is coating the rear wheel! It's down low for sure. My mechanic thinks it's the Stator wire Gromlet where it goes through the cases. Is that possible?

  6. Wolo from Harbor Freight and I put it out of sight in the front fairing and had it there for four years.....VERY loud even from inside the fairing. Gets people attention....If the start to change lanes on you the loud horn makes them jerk back into there lane....they think a truck is about to hit them!

  7. With warm weather and now listening to XM through my speakers I had a blown speaker. Since our Ventures have the obsolete small speakers even Sierra Electronics had nothing for me. They did refer me to a KY guy who had some old stock J&M and I got them. They were the right size, but didn't catch that they didn't have the sq. flange to attach them.

I took the blown speaker apart and made a basket out of the original frame and it worked perfectly. King of the Riggers has struck again!

  8. Just got my bike back from a good servicing with 116,000 miles on it. Valves check out to specs and I watched it done. Had to replace all 16 valve cover rubber washers for $180 [ouch] they were all hard and brittle an leaking. Valve cover gaskets were leaking but kept the rubbery feel but replaced with new. Even the rear brake fluid container had got hot enough it was checked and needed replaced. New carb manifolds replaced the very checked looking ones. Motor looked very clean inside but all my gaskets were hard and brittle. My mechanic thinks it has gotten hot at some time. Replaced side cover gaskets too. Took the carbs apart and cleaned them then had them properly synced. Replaced cylinder anti freeze plugs that had been leaking a little. New anti freeze and oil and filter. Tires and brakes are always serviced and kept fresh. Ready to roll and see what this year will bring!

  9. How can I check to make sure my electric fan works properly? My 116,000 mile bike checks out fine for valve clearance and is very clean inside but my mechanic says valve cover and side cover gaskets are very brittle like it has run hot. He ask if it heats up in the city and I told him I don't city ride. I told him I have ran it very hard for 6-12 hours on some long runs with just gas stops.

  10. Never had the valve covers off and it has 114,000 miles. Lots of hard highway miles but always good clean oil. Getting noisey compared to a tight one but runs good. Leaking some at covers now and I have new gaskets but it does sound noisey at idle to me. Carb boots have typical cracked look and maybe it's sucking some air? Been a good horse and I just want to make sure what I got....Don't have any bikes out that I would rather have. I had a 2000 with 86000 and got hit. Might move up some when it gets to old.
