Cherokee NC has a casino which is about 45 mins from where you are staying. Bryson City is a great place to spend the night as well. I plan on riding up that way before I head back to Afghanistan just not sure when i will get the call and take the time off.

ride safe, it's college football opening weekend here in the states, so watch out for the cages this weekend.

Well, after 485 days in Iraq, it's time to resume my old life and start where I left off. I look forward to seeing the family on a daily basis, playing with the grandkids, walking barefoot in the green grass, and of course, riding my Venture with my lovely wife. I only got to ride about 2 weeks total since i left, and can't wait to grab some throttle and let the pipes make some noise. I hope to be able to make some rallies and M/E's this year. Thanks for your prayers and best wishes, they have certainly helped. Hope to see some of you soon and make new friends in the coming year. Mike

thanks Dano. I had to have the upstairs unit rewired because it kept tripping the breaker and after an inspection by the elect. he told us the wire was too small for the unit, and the lwer unit was wired with the same thing. It is a heat pump, but we are only needing to have wire run from the fuse box to the inside unit, i think. LOL

As a memeber of this fine club, I have found the most helpful, honest and friendly "friends" you could ever want to meet. I am in need of an electrician to help out at the house. I need the large AC unit rewired due to the wrong size wire used when the house was built, and I need my new garage to have a couple of lights installed. I travel alot and am unable to assist or look around for someone to help the wife out with this problem. I know the club members here network and I am hoping this could be a rewarding experience for both of us. LOL Ride safe and stay warm.

Roger that sir. We have a pretty good embroidery shop here on base with some really cool patches. They have some "Terrorist hunting permit" patches, and I was wondering if there is anything I could bring back that might could be used for door prizes? I would be glad to help if I can ! I'm hoping to get to ride up with Eck if he doesn't leave before the 11th.

I tried to get a room from here in Iraq, but couldn't find one and the internet usage I have here doesn't allow me to stay on all day. Guess we will be in a Hotel in Blairsville. My R&R hasn't been put in till 60 days out anyway, so can't make reservations.

Ditto that one Eck. I am planning my vacation around it. The wife and I will beheading up to Canada after the rally and are interested in meeting up with any one along the way. I think we will be attempting the "Iron But" on the way back home to Alabama.

Is the radio volume suppose to decrease when you speak into the microphone? I have a problem with my radio getting "stuck" on one channell and nothing else will work. It has been in the shop 3 times now, once the module was replaced and it still does the same thing. Dealership said it was a short that they supposedly fixed last time. Still did it the last time I was home from Iraq.

They do corner nicer than I expected. She's a really great ride. I just had mine on the Dragon the first of April, and it was fantastic. Although, when looking at the pics online, she was alot closer to the ground than I imagined. I will have to add a touch more air to the back when I go to the Vogel ride.

I installed 1 1/2" risers (while Eck was here helping with other things, LOL) on my RSV and had no issues with any cables. Your bars will hit the plastic around the ignition cover, but doesn't effect you while riding.
