  1. Recently I was given a 2000 Venture for helping a friend move, catch is, there is a hole in the top of block behind the left rear cylinder. I get it home, make a quick table and put the bike on it and begin to pull the motor. I drain the oil and only coolant comes out. After talking with a dealer who informed me that any engine from a royal star of a given age will make a great motor to swap. I go to ebay and find a 96-00 royal star motor. It showed up today and I noticed one thing. My bad motor has a hose connection at the top of every exhaust manifold. The replacement does not. I spent some time here and believe this is part of the AIS system? So, what I would like to do is verify that yes, this is the AIS system, and that it is ok to use the replacement motor without out the AIS system and not switch out the heads. If I can do this, can completely delete all of the components, hoses and diaphragms, from the AIS system or is there something else also running off those components that I do see? Thanks FreeBird and Papa Fred for the two posts I found to help to get to this point
