  2. hey! my wife still misses her 650 after 4 yrs. you can go to delphiforums.com and a search for v-star 650 and you should get a couple web sites for the bike. there's a lot of nice guys there that has a good knowledge on the 650. i know that there was some problems with the transmition for a couple of years. hope you find it's just not greased good, don.

  3. when it comes to the kids, thats the only thing that matters. would also like to let ya'll know of the ride for kids birmingham this year will start at barber's and end at barber's where they have built a permanent shelder for us to have it at and are the main sponsors of it. some of the money goes to uab and children's hosp.

  4. just wanted to let all know that the royal riders are having a wv rally in the cannan valley area. i post it in the rally forum under other club rallies. several of the guys at asheville rally was wanting to come, and all are welcome to come by and meet, eat, ride and talk about bikes.

  6. that 3 tone venture looks like someone didn't have enough of one collor o dothe job. WHAT WAS THEY THINKING!!! to each his own i guess. i think yamaha is trying to get back the fast crowd after losing out some to the hyabusa and v-rod. can't hardly go far without seeing them flying by.

  7. synthic oiul will help, but also checkout your shifter link and pivot bolt and make sure they are working easly. i've had times whenthe pivot get tight and i spray wd40 on it to free it up. or if the bolt comes loose it will bind up making it hard to shift. i did loose the bolt from the shifter not long after i bought it, may not have been thight from factory.

  8. http://forums.delphiforums.com/star_riders/start you can post on here and maybe find some folks in your area. it's free to join. the star riders usa is a breakoff group from the isra forum. WHAT'S WRONG WITH THIS GROUP?? DON'T YOU LIKE US?? if you are looking for local folks to ride with, you might also checkout the southerncruisers.net they may have a group near you. sometimes you have to just go and meet up with the group and see if they fit your needs for riding. i have ridden with all the differant star groups and some i like and others have been rude and snobby to me. thats all i'm going to say about it. hope you find what makes you happy, because that what it's all about, don.
  9. you may want to look at us 280 up thru ga and to birmingham, al. checkout www.29dreams.com if you want to stay around b'ham. also checkout barber's bike museum in leeds, there's a link at 29dreams.from there you can look at 411 to 231 on upthru huntsville and on to murfreeboro, tn, all this is a good road and there's a nice park on the tn river before you get to huntsville if you want to take a break around there. after mufreesboro, i don't know much pass that. if you have plenty of time you can stay on 411 up to lake wiss at leesburg, al and go thru the little river canyon up to desoto state park. you can look it up at www.nationalparksservices.com , deepest gorge in eastern us. hope this helps out and y'all be safe. if you stop around b'ham give me a call and i'll try to meet you for a tour around town.

the dvd has a lot of imfo on all the differant places to visit around the blackhills area. if you watch closely you will see me and "maddog" vinnie danials in it. we went in 04 and had a great time, the riding is the best, because you can see a lot of differant kinds of country and animals. we stayed at the hog heaven campground right in the edge of sturgis near the motorcycle track. http://www.hogheavencampground.com/pages/info.html just be carefull, ther's a lot of wild drivers out there. don't park in the yellow zones, it will cost you! don't matter who else is there.

  11. i rode a strat couple of times but didn't like it. while my bike was in the shop for an estimate, i rode a friend's roadie to savanna, ga about 1,000 miles round trip and couldn't get use to it. high 90's to 104 temp and it was hottt on the body when you stop. tried 100 differant positions, memory foam pad tooo. got my 01 royal back today!!! felt like an old shoe, love it. but that why they make so many differant models!!!

  12. yea it should be fixable, just call a couple of companies and get a quote to keep them honest. make sure they put a filter/drier on it and pull a good vacuum on it before they charge it up. i just finished replacing 5- 5ton gas package units that thieves hit and stole all the copper out of them. it's getting bad around birmingham, al these days, about everyday they hit churches and commerical building. we did one hose in a neighbor that they took all the water pipes, copper wiring and a/c system out while owner was awayon business trip. welding shop are building steel cages to put around them so they cann't get to them.
