About Me

I bought a 1991 Venture Royale with an 89 parts bike last year. The previous owner put a VW carb conversion on it, built some louder exhaust and lowered the rear suspension about 2 inches. I did a little work to the wiring and added an extension between the carb and air filter so it's poking out of the top cover (I  cut a hole). I've always ridden bikes in the 650-750 cc range with a couple exceptions. This bike felt a little akward to me at first but after putting 6000 miles on it I'm now in love with it. It has some small leaks I need to attend to but runs strong. I blew the left fork seal on a ride last week and looked at some how to post on this site. I ordered a set of AllBalls seals because I had good luck with them when I built my XS650 bobber. Also ordered some Progressive springs, after market boots and 86 dust seals (not sure if I'll use the boots yet). Fed Ex delivered the springs today. I'll probably order the bushings next payday. So now I'm just sitting around in Sturgis listening to the sound of everyone else riding their bikes. At least I should have it going again before the real nice weather. One thing I'm wondering about is if I  an run the Progressive springs without a spacer so the front is closer to the lowered rear height? Any advise/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
