  1. Are you associated with that dealership?

    No association.

I was just stating a fact for others interested.

More than 1 buyer out there looking for deals, locations, etc.

Just adding info about New Star, and other new/used motorcycle sales I knew of.

  2. I’ve been seeing the USA being sold out since the 80's.

Paper mills gone, Textile mills gone, Steel mills gone, Miscellaneous other factories gone, Machine shops closed, and on and on and on.

Don’t want to predict our Country’s future. It’s been led by corruption and greed and whatever else wrongs for way too many years. All the wrong people seem to have had all the rights, and knew how to misuse them.

  3. Actually right now I’m bikeless. Sold my thumper in August to a happy camper.

    I’ve owned bikes since 1966 from 80cc to 1500cc.

Truimph 900 Tridents to Harley FLTRI’s to Honda’s and Yamaha’s and Suzuki’s and Kawasaki’s. Duel purpose to cruiser to touring to standard to...

    Money is not a problem.

It’s almost like I’m looking for something to speak to me, to say, "buy me."

    It ain’t happening.

This is kinda like a first.

I might even give them up for a while, ‘till the time is right...

  4. We recently compared in the showrooms most of the tour bikes again: Venture, Gold Wing, Electra Glide Classic, and BMW’s offering.

For room and "back seat approval" the Venture wins.

Just can’t get ourselves to "Do It;" On any of those available choices.

Fact is there are no bad ones, they are all good and/or better in some way or the other.

The wife loves her 2008 400 Burgman, and is hinting on the 2009 650 version for me.

You know, in the real world it just might be the right choice.

When my lady speaks, I listen.

Believe it or not, It’s down to Venture or Burgman 650. Almost worlds apart yet so close to our riding needs.

  5. Sounds great, thanks for the heads up to those looking.

But for me, I probably belong with the dinosaurs as my avionics specialties were with the F-14 aircraft, AWG-9, AWG-15, etc.

And at my age I'm almost retired. Probably should be already if I was smarter...

  6. No matter where you stand on the bailout in the end it will affect every last one of us, that means the pain will eventually trickle down or up depending on your situation and where you are on the economic ladder. To those who say let them fail and those who say help them out get ready to secure the fort, it's going to get ugly.

    Personal responsibility.

If you didn't live by it, then pay the price.

Come on down to our level. The wife and I have been responsible.

    You can't hurt us!

"If you can't give it away, you don't possess it, it possesses you."

  7. Absolutely not no private business should be bailed out by the government. If they can't make a profit they should fail in every case including my business.

    I agree 100%.

Now for a soultion to our domestic $$$ problems; which country or government sets the best example for the USA to follow and pull us out of this mess?

Part two: can we or will we follow that example; and eventually prosper again as a nation?

  9. O.K. I pay bills every Wednesday and my computer gave a two day warning. You will be broke Friday. It's your Anniversary of 27 years. The wife will be expecting dinner, etc $$$$$$ . I gave her a new nickname. HIGH MAINTENANCE

Just kidding. 27 years has been good. :173::173:

I would have sent you the $$$ to take that lady out to dinner if you were really broke.

  10. One usually sets up a schedule where the generator starts and runs automatically maybe twice a month to keep the battery charged. Many new owners after finding the amount of gas consumed and the price to operate choose to charge the battery with a normal charger. Some of the bigger KW generators will consume enough gas to scare you or break you, whichever comes first. Great to have in an emergency though.

  11. We survived Fay without any damage to our home here in Sebring, but this storm will just not quit, speed up, or go away. Still raining day and night as each band comes around. She is a big wet one covering many square miles no matter where the eye is.

I need to go to school in Orlando this weekend and no one is sure if it will be cancelled or not. Fay is moving too slow and is just too big a rain maker. School will probably be a last minute decision late Friday night.

Hope everyone in her path with her arms spread out wide survives this nasty lady.

  12. The last Harley’s the wife and I owned were 1998's. She had an 883 Sporty and I had a Road Glide. It was one of the best tour bikes I’ve ever ridden and enjoyed. The 80 CI Evolution was a great engine and I’d buy another one today. HD went with the "bigger is better" ... to 88 CI and now 96 CI or whatever. I say bigger is not always better. In HD’s case their new biggers are definitely Not better; in my opinion. Not Harley bashing, just stating that I am not even looking at any HD for me. Now the wifester would consider another Sporty and thinks they are actually improved over her previous ones. Note they are still 883 and 1200, but with improvements that count, at least to her as a possible customer.

  13. Here are the latest specs.

------------2008 HD top tourer----------- 2008 Venture

    wheelbase ---------------63.5" --------------------67.1"

dry weight -------------814 lb. -------------------807 lb.

fuel capacity ------------6 gal. ---------------------6 gal.

    need I say more!

Oh yes HD price $20,695 Venture $17,299

Where do the Goldwing specs fall in comparison?

  14. I'm up and about already, this is the one night I haven't slept all night since as far back as I can remember. I'm snooping under the tree just like the kid I still am.

    Merry Christmas to all.

I did learn though (years ago) to Not wake the wife up early on Christmas or any of the other 365 days. So I'll play on the computer and snoop around and try to behave.
