  1. When I get frisky and decide to do a good detail on my bike I take off the seats and saddle bags. The problem is with the saddle bags off the bike it's hard to keep the saddle bags stable enough to clean them. Anyone have any suggestions. I thought about maybe building a rack I could put them in while cleaning.

  2. Please don't turn this into a political debate, not my intention. My wife, son and I have an insurance agency. Agencies and other businesses close to us have been robbed so my son and I conceal carry. When I get to the office I put mine in my desk drawer. I came close to having to use it last week. My wife sits up front with a counter about waist higher in front of her. I am across the hall but I can see her. A customer was waiting to see me. I walk out to the receiption area to tell the customer sitting on the sofa to come in. Another guy is comes in the door and I noticed he had a frown on his face but didn't think anything about it. The guy told my wife he wanted to get a quote. She told him to have a seat and and soon as I was available I would give him a quote. I told the customer waiting to come in my office. After about 15 or 20 minutes I heard the guy waiting yelling and using the f word with my wife. She told him to leave the office and he said he wasn't going anywhere and no one was going to tell him what to do. I can't use the words he was saying. I told my customer to excuse me and I got my gun out of my desk and went to the front. I had the gun in my right hand with my arm down. I told the guy to leave and said he wasn't going anywhere. I told my wife to call 911. The guy said he had a gun bigger than mine and then said I pointed the gun at him and no one was going to point a gun at him and get away with it. I never pointed the gun at him. I told my wife to call 911 again and tell the police to hurray. I started to tell the guy if he came toward the counter I was going to shoot him but I thought it was better to say nothing and not adjitate the guy. The police officer arrived and the guy started yelling at him and told him he wanted me arrested for pointing the gun at him. The officer told him to sit down and shut up or he was going to arrest him. The guy said he wanted to see a lieutenant. Another officer arrived and called for a lieutenant. Another officer arrived in an unmarked car and came in. He approached the guy and said the lieutenant is off but I am the captain and I understand you have something to say to me. The guy said yes I want this man, meaning me, arrested for aggravated assualt for pointing a gun at me. The captain said, let me tell you something, this man has the right to protect his property and wife, you are here acting like a fool with your hands in your pocket so he doestn't know what you might do so he can point the gun at you if he wants. The captain asked if I wanted to let this guy come on the property again and I said no sir. He said then tell him. I told the gun to leave immediately and to never come in my office again. The captain then told him if he ever came on the premises again he would be arrested. The guy left yelling I was predjudiced and he guessed since he didn't have a masters degree he wasn't welcome. That makes sense. If the guy had tried to come over the counter I would have shot him. I often wondered what I would do if I had to pull a gun on someone and it is not a pleasant experience. I realized I wouldn't shoot someone unless my life was threatened and hope I never have this happen again. It's a shame the world has come to this, but there are dangerous people out there.

  3. Here's what happened with the 69 year old. There were a group of guys that rode on the weekend. There are businessmen, accountant and managers. No where close to a motorcycle club. They had jackets with their group name. No rockers or anything close. They knew a guy in the outlaws. They had a beer with him many times and considered him a friend so they went to his funeral. Afterwards they went to a restaurant to eat. Some of the members of the local gang came in and asked the 69 year old what he was doing wearing his jacket and told him to remove it. He said he served in the military and fought for this country so he felt he had the right to wear his jacket. The gang member said Ok if you want trouble we will show you trouble and went on. When the 69 year old walked across the street to get on his bike he was blindsided when one of the gang members hit him beside his head. The gang member told him that every time he saw him that was what was going to happen. Some of the riding group were former army rangers and started carrying guns because they were scared. They finally called the president of the gang and he said if the 69 year old would resign as the head of the group and apologize the gang would call a truce. When we were going to start a star rider group here the guy organizing the group wanted us to order the star back patch to put our jackets. A guy that was in the group with the 69 year old told us about this so we didn't form a group. The guys in the CMA said this was the gangs territory and we should be glad they had this territory so no other gang would come in. Give me a break. Do you think God would be pleased with what happened.

  4. I used to be a member but no more. We have a motorcyle gang that goes around ganging up on people and beating them up. There was an instance where a 69 year old man was leaving the funeral of a member of the Outlaws and when he started to get on his bike a member of the gang hit him upside his head and knocked him off his bike. He was bleeding and when he got up there were 5 members of the gand standing around him with knives and brass knuckles. I was discussing this at a CMA meeting and they took up for this gang. I never went back and never will.

  5. I would be suprised in WBC shows up. They have met so much resistance the last few years that they just say they are. This past summer we had a marine that was killed. It was my first PGR mission and it was gut wrenching. The WBC posted on their web site that they would be at the church for the funeral services. I got all upset and called the ride captain for the PGR and he said don't let it bother you and ignore them. For the past two years they haven't been showing up. I know WBC is low down but I don't think even they would protest this funeral.

  6. I was traveling through Virginia this past summer. I was going down a road and I saw dust that was so thick you could barely see. It cleared a little and I saw a wooden fence with people sitting on top of the fence so thought, all right, they're having a rodeo but when I got closer I saw that they were trying to put shoes on a 16 year old boy.

  7. Hey Adventurer 08,

I did the Richard Petty driving experience at the Atlanta Motor Speedway a few years ago and it was an awesome experience. You will have a good time. I learned to appreciate what NASCAR drivers go through. I can't imagine being on the track with a car on both sides about a half inch from you and a car in the front and rear about a 1/4 of an inch from you going 200mph or more. I went 8 laps and was completely worn out. Imagine going 400 or 500 laps. This brings a question. What do they do if they have to go to the bathroom? Good luck and have a good time.

  8. My father in law was an electrician and belonged to a union. We used to have some heated conversations. All I had to say was, "unions are the cause of most of the problems with our country," and he would come un glued. I have heard him brag about working, uh, showing up on weekends or holidays and getting double and triple time pay and going behind the building and goofing off all day. A friend of mine worked with the Miller Brewing Company here and he told me the number one reason for firing people at the plant was for sleeping on the job. Unions were needed when they were first organized but now they have gone too far.

  9. The street glide and ultra classic can't be the same bikes. I have two friends that had street glides because they didn't want geezer glides. Both recently traded for ultra classics and both say they didn't realize how smooth the ultra classic was compared to the street glide. Both said they thought the street glide was a smooth ride but they didn't know what they were missing with the ultra classic. The extra parts couldn't make the difference in the ride.

  10. The last two sunday mornings while flipping the channels I have found a show title LA Rider. Wondering if anyone else has seen this. It's a female named TW riding a harley and touring Louisiana. I think I saw a midnight venture in the commercial for the show. Anyone know?

  11. Hey scarylarry,

Is this why they call you scarylarry? The insurance companies I represent require me to carry a minimum of 1 million of errors and omissions insurance and I have to send them proof I renewed the coverage every year. This is required in case I leave off a certain coverage the customer wanted and I didn't provide. I can check a wrong block on an application and be held liable. Agents get sued every day and their E & O coverage pays.

  12. Hey SapperMedic,

Sorry to hear about your loss and am glad you will be ok. I always wonder why anyone would deal directly with a company instead of dealing with a local agent you can see face to face. If there is a problem you can go to the agents office instead of waiting for the company to get the tapes from 4 years ago. The territory manager with progressive was in my office a few weeks ago and we were discussing this. He said the majority of the problems progressive has is with the direct side of the company with inaccurate quotes. The person that gives you the quote knows they will never see or talk to you again. They just need to make a sell so they can keep their job. People call me all the time saying they are trying to quote their coverage on line and want to know what a certain type of coverage is. I tell them to figure it out themselves but if they want someone that knows the coverages and can counsel them to come in the office. If I did buy on line or direct, the first thing I would do is to look over my policy when I received it to make sure I had the coverage I needed. Good luck. I hope you had collison coverage.

  13. If you look under features you will see the cassette listed. Someone on here posted a while back that they called on Yamaha USA and were told about the changes to the venture. I replied that it would be interesting to see if what they said was right when the 2013 was introduced. I can't find that thread. Does anyone remember what that thread might had been titiled? If I remember correctly, and I might not, they said there wasn't going to be a 2013 yamaha but the 2014 would be upgraded.

  14. I was on you tube looking for music and I thought of the movie easy rider that I saw when I was a senior in high school. I accidentally found a video that is so cool. If you go to you tube and type in "Henryk Rynkowski Easy Rider" you will see the video. It starts out with a harley davidson starting and then you see Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper riding in the movie. I think Henryk Rynkowski is polish and the writing on the video is in polish. My question is does anyone know how I might could get this music. I sure would love to have this song on my mp3.
