    Mistaken for a Harley ?

    I have had my 1st gen mistaken for a Gold Wing.

    He wanted to know why I stuck Yamaha badges on my wing.:confused24: :confused24:

    Whenever i show some pictures of my bike. They always say nice wing. I smile & say thanks but its not a wing.

    Dragon trip

    I was out there in June and was able to get a ride in on the Dragon.. We road it on a Tuesday about 430pm and not little to no traffic on it and have a real nice ride both direction on it. It was my buddy on his 89 VR and me on mine. I dont think I ever made it out of second gear the whole time. I also enjoy the ride to the Dragon from Maggie Valley area. Very nice riding out in that area...

    I didn't get out of 2nd gear either. It was very challenging. Will go back soon.

    Assuming all fuses are intact I wonder if someone didnt bugger the 4 way switch. That switch is tricky to manipulate while removing and replacing the plastic inlays on either side of the head assembly.

     

    I love the progressives too, those and new head bearings/races made notable differences in ride and handling. The rear shock on my 89 works and performs really well, but I think there are outfits out there that can overhaul and alter valving/behavior of a shock if it doesn't work as you want it to.

    Are you still using the anti-dives with your progressives?

    finally got it back

    well after 5 months being in the shop I finally got my bike back. it runs great fides better than it ever has thanks to Progressive springs. I have 2 questions first does anyone know if there is an aftermarket company making a rear air shock for the 1988? 2nd my 4 way flashers don't work but my turn signals do is there a separate flasher for the hazards?

    Update

    I stopped by the shop that has my bike today. We got to talking about te bike. He got away from working on it for a little bit to do a couple of smaller jobs ( I'm ok with that) we got to talking about the ignition coils. He told me that the bottom side if the coils had melted a little & needed replacing. He has 4 brand new ones from Yamaha. But what could have caused them to melt? He is going to save them I'll put pics up when that happens.

    Are you by chance going to the WV. SCRC State Rally? My son and his wife will be there but I chose to go to Don instead.

    I'm wanting to sell the carbtune sync tool i bought earlier this year. The shop that is doing the work will sync the carbs. I do not have a need for it. $75.00 and I'll send it to you.
