No need for excuses he just couldn't handle a real motorcycle. (:
-
How many years did I tell you that you couldn't handle a second gen????? Now you see I was right. You better go back to a first gen so you can't get up enough speed to hurt yourself.
-
Did that 2 weeks ago.

Come on now you know it's been a little boring sense Dallas went missing. This place is addicting.. been here since 05....and love it as much today as I did back then. -
And they are still in 1 piece riding down the road.Hate to burst your bubble, but a 99 RSV is now 14 years old, starting to get a little long in the tooth ! ! !Gary
Good luck with the project.
Here is an idea for you. Pull the stock carbs off build a manifold have it wrap around and over the tank on both sides then mount a holley double pumper with a velocity stack above the fuel tank.
-
Anything could be done. The space is limited and you would have to pull the tank to get to the air cleaners. Some one posted a pic of a very custom bike here and they had plumbed out the sides and had individual cone filters sticking out the side. If I remember correctly they had to modify the carbs to make it work. With some ingenuity and McGyvering, could a filter element be located in the structures above the carbs?Gary

Here are a few. It may be hard to find pictures of a second gen in a major state of disassembly because they don't break down like those antiques.
-
The air cleaner is the black piece in front of the front head behind the front lower. The part above the carbs is the manifold or air box.

Try not to have too much fun.

Everything is bigger in Texas! I didn't see the long horns on the front of that Cadillac though.

I figured that would get your bowels in an uproar. Good luck with your new adventure.First trip will be to Odessa to round up all the irrelevant winders boxes and take them to the landfill....
BTW, I'm planning on adding a cassette deck so it will be caught up with my 07 Venture.

Those look really neat! It would be perfect for you, just like a Mac inferior technology and nostalgic.Been contemplating a Ural Patrol 2WD for the winter riding season...Nothing new there, except there is a dealer just 50 miles from me. So I rode down there today and chatted.
SOMEBODY STOP ME!

I'm curious how bright they are compared to the stock bulbs.

I have a go pro hero 2 and it takes great video. I have a stick on mount on my helmet one on the hood of the pu on the fender of the bmw on the front if the yamaha rhino. Every one that has seen the videos is very impressed with the quality of the videos. A splattered bug can ruin a video so check the lens often.

WOW! I can put a hitch on it but your probably going to need a bigger scooter. Congratulations.
-
Mrs Redrider may be good with a shovel though.Nah ... The seed has been planted now ... you can't dig it up -
Its to bad they are made for little people. I rode one and had to be careful not to get my knees tangled in the front wheel. The fact that my heels were rubbing on my ass didn't add to my comfort ether. They are a nice scooter though.
-
It just depends on what you want to do with them. The klr is better on rough terrain and the bmw is better on road. They both have some reliability issues just like all machines. I liked my klr but I would not go from my 1150gs back to the klr.

Stay safe and thank you!

Cool! We are going to Albuquerque Wednesday to visit family and catch the end of the balloon festival.

The biggest killer of fuel efficiency in todays autos is emission requirements.
-
Thats great I'm glad he is on the mend and thinking about moving forward.

Awesome! I saw 2 of them doing dog fight maneuvers over a lake in Montana a few weeks ago.
Getting in my head again.

Ya it's the motorcycles fault and the guns fault and the spoons fault. I told you for years you couldn't handle a second gen and you proved me right. You better stick to a cage and let the warden drive. I'm glad your still breathing and able to type and haven't grown up. Tell the warden to get you a bubble I doubt that will keep you from hurting yourself but hey it's worth a try.
