If I can get away in the after noon maybe I can scoot up there. I actually plan on rebuilding my forks today.... Maybe the bike will be apart... I really don't have time to work on this thing! 2. hey guys a quick question here, i didn't want to start a new thread. I have been searching the form and cant really find what springs i need for the front forks. Is any "progressive spring" ok i was going to just get these from eBay, but if they are not any stiffer than the stock ones then its a waist of money. my class computer is shot, and need would like to eliminate the system really. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Progressive-Fork-Springs-Pair-1983-93-Yamaha-Venture-Royale-Std-11-1112-/170791610002?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item27c3f92692&vxp=mtr Thanks guys,

  4. well scene you guys want to talk about oil so much, i need to change it this weekend. i ordered a filter off eBay last Sunday so i should have it by this weekend. I don't really want to use a special oil if i don't have to. Do i need that motorcycle oil form the parts store? i know the clutch is bathed in the same oil, but shouldn't just any old, over the shelve oil work? and what weight?.... sorry, i know, ill start using that search tool right now!
  5. Ok thanks guys! Some much to do, and I'm working so much overtime right now. I would much rather be wrenching on this thing Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2

  7. ok, hey there people. ill introduce myself, i may be the youngest one here at only 25. I just got an 84 venture Royal. I had to sell my last bike a few years ago, right after collage because times got tuff. It was a 1996 ZX6E, Ninja. loved that bike. Now that i have a stable job, and bought a house with a garage, i decided.... its time again. My uncle got this bike in a deal/trade. i made fun of him for almost a week for him getting the thing. I mean its HUGE and HEAVY. but look who's laughing now. I now own it. and to be honest its really growing on me! It was a good deal to me, i have around $800 cash in it. All the plastics are in good shape, have all the bags and it runs good. Still needs some work tho such as tires, head bearings (maybe?) and air ride needs to be worked on. Leaks like a siv. after reading on this forum a little, it settled some of my woes, such as it does crank slow, the air ride issues, and a few other items that are discussed in the tech section. Me and my girlfriend both fit on it! has plenty of power. now i just really want to make it a reliable bike. im getting use to the weight of this thing, and again, its really growing on me! Let me see if i can get some pics to show up. http://i373.photobucket.com/albums/oo171/9buckingham41/Venture%20pics/IMAG1183.jpg http://i373.photobucket.com/albums/oo171/9buckingham41/Venture%20pics/IMAG1180.jpg http://i373.photobucket.com/albums/oo171/9buckingham41/Venture%20pics/IMAG1174.jpg
