  1. I haven't touched it. I assumed that any bolt would have had Loctite applied during assembly. Bike is a 08 bought new in Nov 2010. Just entering 3rd riding season in NW Illinois. Shocked that the bolt fell out. I wonder what else is going to fall off this bike. Jim
  2. On my ride home from work last night I discovered that the heel toe shifter assembly was loose and moving around. I would have to keep pressure on arm with the side of my foot to keep it lined up. Looked at the bike this morning and it looks like there was supposed to be a bolt/nut to secure the assembly to the frame. Now all I see is a hole. Any idea what was there and what needs to be done to fix. Don't really want to spend my time have shop take care of it if I locate the correct parts. Thanks in advance for any help. Jim
  3. Thanks for the quick response. I have been on Sierra's site numerous times and have never seen the hand held mic. I will definitely call them tomorrow. Jim
  4. I'm trying to locate a hand held mic to plug into bike so I can use cb without the need or being " tied" to a helmet. I know H-D has a mic for their system but I believe they are a 7 pin. I purchased a 5 pin o 4 pin adapter and picked up a cb mic at Loves truck stop, but the mic didn't transmit. Thanks in advance for any input. Jim (wanaberidin)
  5. I got the bike back from dealer today. They checked and adjusted any / all cables /sensors and was trying to replace vacuum pump but Yamaha saiid that the symptoms indicated plugged pilot jets. So I got my carbs cleaned under warranty. Cruise worked every time I set it today( about 5 times)! I sure do hope that this solves the problem. I really use the cruise everyday on my 140 mile round trip commute on the highway. Jim
  6. So do I, that is why the dealer is going spend the time/$ to chase and fix for me. Gotta love that 5 year warranty!
  7. Bike starts climbing , never reaches set point and then just stops climbing and starts decel. Hitting resume results in the same as hitting set. Going to drop bike off on Thursday. Hopefully dealer can get this figured out because I wanaberidin!!
  8. Cruise turns on and green ON light lit on dash, indicated speed of 75mph, depress and hold for 2-3 seconds SET button while holding throttle constant, green SET light lit on dash along with ON light. Take right hand off throttle, speed decreases to 65 than starts building for a couple of seconds than green SET light goes off and amber RES lit.
  9. I am the original owner and the dealer has serviced it under warranty twice now. I'm just looking to find out if anyone has any knowledge of any known temperature related issues.
  10. Hello everyone. New supporting member and I am experiencing issues with my cruise control. I purchased my 2008 RSV S on 11/15/2010 as a new left over with 0.7 miles on it. In late November 2011 on my 70 mile ride home from work at 10:00 pm with an air temp of approx. 35F my cruise would not work. Dropped bike off at shop to look at and store for winter. Pick up bike early March 2012. Everything works fine until Oct 30, 2012 again around same time and temp. Cruise won't work. Pick up bike today after dealer "diagnosing" all winter and low and behold on way home from work 30F air temp no cruise. Sorry for the long story. I'm trying to find out if any knows if the electronic cruise control is temperature sensitive? Thanks for reading and any info that is shared. Jim (wanaberidin) Joseph
  11. I wish they did also. The Michelin was put on "by mistake" in August. I had a quote from the shop for $128.00 for another D404, but when I picked bike up it had the commander II on it. Needless to say, I got one helluva deal on the commander for $128.00. Now I'm trying to figure out what to put on front.
  12. Michelin doesn't make a commander II in stock size of 150/80/16
  13. I'm looking for some feedback re: radial front and bias rear. My bike is an 08 RSV with 24,600 miles. I replaced the O.E.D404 rear @ 17,500 with a Michelin Commander II and need to replace the O.E. front D404. The guys at my dealer says it will be fine to mount a Metzler ME880 on the front. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jim
