GreenMtnHunter Posted June 29, 2019 Share #1 Posted June 29, 2019 (edited) During 50 miles of 30-50mph roads, my passenger complained of heat o her left foot and ankle. As the read header is just nine inches, as the crow flies, from the front of the floorboard, I understand why... I certainly felt the heat under my left thigh. Interestingly, I did not notice this on test rides in early June. It was cooler and I was wearing chaps... So I went to the owners manual, remembering that the boards are adjustable. "See your Yamaha dealer...." Lol! I immediately found my 6mm Hex key and using decent leverage, removed the two bolts on each, (puke green/yellow thread loc) and raised the boards. I dabbed some white lithium in the lower, now open holes, but I do not have spare bolts to thread in, to keep out the road crud. Having seen the seat shield ad (somewhere?) I now understand....Next ride will be in my chaps, but is was already so hot yesterday, that I skipped them for our short, first ride. Take care.
