Broncoboy36081 Posted October 16, 2014 Share #1 Posted October 16, 2014 Well I got bored and did a compression check on my 99 RSV. Here are the results using my analog gauge Cylinder#1 200-202 psi. Cylinder#2 200-202 psi. Cylinder#3 205psi. Cylinder#4 210psi Bike was luke warm idled about 3-5 minutes. Thoughts and concerns welcomed! They are all well within the spec. Only concern is the one at 210 and rest were around 200-205.
Peder_y2k Posted October 16, 2014 Share #2 Posted October 16, 2014 Cyl #4 might have some carbon buildup on it. Check the spark plugs and see if #4 is darker. Also, the piston rings might be holding more oil creating slightly more compression, and this oil may show on the park plug as well. -Pete, in Tacoma WA USA

I'm pretty sure like a buddy said if I squirted a little oil in it the compression would be higher but they are all within the 10% difference. I will run a little seafoam through it and run her hard. That should help with the one at 210.
