Does this look right? - RSTD bar weights

The RSTD handle bar has a nut pressed inside the bars. I guess it's pressed in... I don't see any screw, brad or weld marks on the bar.

Are they supposed to stick out like that (about 3/16")? The way the weight is machined, it looks like it should fit inside the bar about 1/8", with the weight flush to the bar. Instead, there is 3/16" gap.

These are bars and weights for an '05 RSTD. If they are supposed to be that way, no problem... it just looks funny. If they are supposed to fit flush, I'll see if I can 'press' the nuts in a little more.

You do need to have a small gap on the throttle side, so the throttle can freely rotate. I'm guessing that its about right, as is.

The screw should go all the way in. with the stock grips there is a chrome spacer that fills the gap.

I'm sure the screw will go all the way in. It came with loc-tite on the threads so I just started enough threads to hold it together for a pic.

Sounds like all is well with the bars so I'll start replacing them on Saturday. I've got a real rats-nest of wiring in fairing from all the hurry-up installs I've done. I think I'll take some time to straighten some of that out too.
