Exhaust questions 96 Royal Star

I just got a 96 RS with the 4 into 4 pipes. It has Cobra aftermarkets on it- very LOUD!

How could I go about getting a 2 into one setup for this?

Anyone wanna swap?

Best bet is to keep an eye on eBay. Any of the 4 into 2 pipes will interchange. You will have to fab mounts for the mufflers, though.

It will be hard getting someone to swap because the 4x4 exhaust wont work on a bike with 4 into 2's because the hard bags sit too low.

 

Your best bet is to find stock mufflers on craigslist and put them on. I saw a set last week for $30.00.

 

I am actually looking for a set of pipes to convert mine from 4x4 to 4x2's I already have the mufflers, just need the head pipes...

Have you checked to see if your pipes are set up for baffles? If they've been pulled out, [not uncommon with the LOUD pipes crowd] you might be able to replace them thru Cobra. My '96 has stock pipes and those are just about as loud as I'd ever want them to be!

Depending on which set of Cobras you have it may be that the fiberglass packig has all blown out. J C Whitney has replacement packing as does Cobra.Both also sell baffles.
