utadventure Posted June 7, 2013 #1 Posted June 7, 2013 Just added an 1100 Classic to the stable! http://s470.photobucket.com/user/utadventure/media/2002%20Yamaha%20V%20Star%201100%20Classic/photobucket-47914-1370629722934_zps6f96ba76.jpg.html?sort=3&o=0 The bike was running mostly on one cylinder. Thanks to the VR.org! The knowledge learned here once again proved the value we gain. Checked the plug and had pretty good spark but missed every once in a while. Checked the resistance on the cap, right on spec. Cut a little off the wire, screwed the cap on again and then had a stronger spark and no misses. Rear cylinder still not running. Air cleaner was clear, pulled all of the air system off, blocked off the rear air and nothing, blocked of the front air and bike died. Not pulling air into the carb....... Pulled the carbs, all jets in the front....clear and clean. All jets in the rear........ main jet-plugged solid, pilot jet-restricted, starter jet-clear. The B44 and Seafoam had softened things up, so they cleaned pretty easily. Reassembled everything.....wala- runs just like it should - both cylinders firing! Great power and fun to ride. The knowledge learned here gave me the info and confidence to not have to pay the stealer.... :cool10:
