Boring rainy Sunday. Decided to look into repairing the plastic tabs that break off so easily when you remove the plastic chrome fairing trim that covers the windshield screws.

I think I may have read about some other methods. This was so easy I just had to share my method.

Take an aluminum butterfly molly. You know the mollies you put in dry wall that open up on the other side of the wall. One side of the butterfly is slightly wider and that wider side fits almost perfectly onto the base of the broken tab. Just cut it to fit and use some JB Weld epoxy to glue it in place. See pics and you'll get the idea. With a Dremel it took maybe 30 mins. to make two. It was my top two that were broken off. See pics and if you have any questions just let me know.
