Tie down 2nd Gen on trailer

I'm trailering my 2001 RSV from TN to KS next week as I go out there for extended period of work. I'm getting a U-Haul 5X9 trailer but I have not ever trailered this bike. ANyone got any tips for how to tie this beast down so it does not end bouncing out and passing me on the highway?

Thanks for the help,

I use soft straps across the top of the upper triple trees then strapped forward and out to the trailer corners. A snug amount of compression. Front wheel locked or strapped into a chock and the bike is going nowhere. You may wish to also insure the rear does not move around but I've never needed straps in the rear and don't think you will unless you hit something causing a sudden stop. I do not have safety hooks on my straps so I use duct tape to make sure the hooks do not come unhooked if the straps become relaxed during a bump. Stop after a short drive to insure tension on straps. Also tie or tape your loose ends so they do not flap around causing wear damage to paint etc.:mytruck:
