Venturous Randy Posted October 26, 2010 Share #2 Posted October 26, 2010 First of all, welcome to the site and it will be the best $12 investment you will ever make in your bike. Next, when asking a question, please make sure you note what particular bike you have, such as in your case, an 83 Venture. Now for your question. Can we assume the left side engine cover was removed? I ask this because our intrepretation of "shift pin" may be not be what you meant. Can we also assume you did not put a new gasket on? Another area for a leak is where the stator wires go thru the grommet. Can you tell where the leak is actually coming from? To actually answer your question, you can get the gasket from Yamaha, or there are probably several others on here that stock that gasket. dvuch1 Posted October 26, 2010 Share #3 Posted October 26, 2010 I have a similar leak and had recently run a diagnostic multimeter on my stator and R/R . That was all fine but I may have pulled too hard on the wiring...is the stator grommet easiily accessible...i tried to look at the engines on Ebay to get a good look but could not get close enough....also...is the stator bathed in oil? Thanks Dave
