Ok...RUN/Kill Switch...you know the drill..

Recommended Posts

OK, i got rained on yesterday and you guess....kill switch lost contact and wouldnt start untill i took it apart with my swiss army knife and got it good an dried out. SURELY some of y'all know a remedey to this apparantly age old problem. (1984 venture by the way). IS there an aftermarket switch i can buy somewere? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks much! i'm still learning....

WD40 is WATER DISPLACING... but a very poor long term lubricant. good ole alchohol will also suck up the water. A small can of compressed air in the tool kit is a great item!

Personally I like to pack the housing with diealectric grease and be done wit it.

i'd drill a small hole on the bottom side of the housing, just big enough for a spraycan straw, and then as others have mentioned, either wd-40, canned air, or ether which will evaporate the water.

that, or seriously considering coating all the cracks and openings with a real thin layer of marine goop. that stuff is amazing.
