Dave77459 Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Due to scheduling problems, I have to ride my bike to the shop where the new tire is and they will mount it. I want to keep the old one, since I have a few thousand miles left, I reckon, and having a workable emergency spare will be handy. Has anyone carried a rear tire on their luggage rack? Note that I have a RSTD.
pegscraper Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Yes I have. Set it down over the backrest so it's half on the luggage rack and half on the rear seat, and strap it down.

pegscraper Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Well, I don't quite follow. I used bungee straps. Just make sure there's good tension on them. I have Willie and Max's "Hooker" under the rear seat, so I have plenty of places to strap stuff down. I'm all the time carrying stuff with me.
