  1. Thanks. I thought it should cut out like the old one did. Sirius radio is not cutting out Problem for the dealer. Not sure if push to talk switch is bad or not releasing all the way. Hopefully tech services will have info for dealer shortly.

Pappy here again. The radio cuts out when cb mike is keyed, but only when both are through the headset. If radio is through the audio speakers and not the headset, it does not cutout. Is this normal. VOX was shut off. That did certainly help. Thanks in advance

  2. Yes, CB give a beep when it is ready to transmit and the radio does cut out.

Wife has as a Spyder with CB so we chat all the time... really drives some truckers nuts when they hear our chatter and cant figure out its the bikes.

  3. For the CB keying itself on check to see if the mike is set for voice activation (VOX) - you can turn this on or off in the Infotainment Center I like to keep it off as the VOX seems either to sensitive or you have to yell your head off for it to work.

Yes, once you depress the PTT button it takes a second or two for the radio to transmit.

Thank you will try to make sure VOX IS OFF. does you radio cut out when using cb.

  4. Is anyone with a SVTC using the CB? I can't seem to get mine to work ( admittedly it is the first time I have ever used any kind of CB) I even put it on the universal emergency channel (9) as a test and couldn't get a a hold of anyone. I have it turned on in the settings, I can hear myself through the headsets, but going through the channels and trying to adjust the squelch, they are either static or quiet. I am doing a two trip to Alaska this summer and the guys I ride with use CB's to communicate out on the road. Any ideas? I'm probably doing something wrong, but not sure.

I have a 2018 SVTC and am having troubles with my CB also. The mike will be keyed all by itself and if I key it there is a long hesitation before it goes off. Also on my 06 Venture when using the CB transmitting Or receiving The radio shut off like I believe it should. The18 does not.. the radio is broadcast also. I have dealer checking but no luck. Help.

  5. It will connect to a bluetooth connection. What I can tell you is on my Victory it will tell me connected to phone, then a bit later it connects to "media" which is the BT on the bike radio. There was some info on here about connecting all that kind of stuff. I think he figured he would have to use the freewire thing SENA has. The newer upgrade SENA units (read more $$$$) may do what your looking for. However I did read some not so good reviews on the "mesh" type systems if you do group rides. For me it would be no big deal as usually its just me and the wife.

Thank you. Guess I will call Sana’a and see what they say.

  6. I believe that if you are desiring used bags that Pinwall Cycle parts have a set in the same color for 399. I have not used them but many on here have. Good luck. They are located in Massilon Oh. Check their web site.

  7. Freebird that was the same type of cracking that I experienced only mine was on the front after about 3000 miles. I went to the dealer and they checked with Avon and the tire was replaced at no cost to me. I have always had outstanding service from my dealer Yamaha of Warren. I have about 3000 miles on the replaced tire and no sign of cracking so far. Yesterday and today were my maiden rides this year and I must say that yesterday was almost perfect weather. :97:

  8. I have an 06 Venture and replaced the stock grips with the ISO grips last year. I love them. Yes the end weights have to go unless you make modifications. It is not a problem. There is no problems with the throttle and it is a pretty easy install. The ISO grips are much larger in diameter which is great for us with larger hands.

    good luck

  9. I used the glue that came with the grips. I did use an old artists paint brush to make sure that the inside of the grip was well coated. Left things set and all was nice and tight.Grips look great and are very comfortable to ride with.

I too have an 06 Midnight and have a Sansa MP3. It will plug into the aux port and works great. It is only a 1 gig, but now they have a 4 gig for only $49. It works great especially in areas that radio reception is not good. the added benefit is that you only have to listen to the songs that you wish.:Venture:

  11. The stock passenger floor boards are rather ugly and the chrome ones from Star are as pricey as the stock ones are ugly. I do not have good photos available as it is all covered for the winter, but I shall try to describe. First I have a 2006 midnight. I took the back of the passenger boards and put gloss black paint then clear coated them. This minimizes the part of the rubber that sticks through. Then to add a bit of glitz I took a couple of oval star medalions and added one to each one in the center. The rubber nubs that stick through I covered with the little chrome buttons also from star.

This could be done to match any color and it sure does save the bulk of that $230 for the gas tank....Good luck and enjoy.

  12. Be sure that you use a spacer when you install the passing light mount. They are available through a member here, although his name escapes me for the moment. The spacer will allow you to split the faring in the future with out removing the passing lights. Be sure that you seal the running lights/ turn signals where they connect to the light bar. Also if you plan on installing the visor on the headlight, this would be the time. :322:

I got the Kuryakyn red lenses last sept and they work and look great. I also used regular 1156 bulbs under them. I had to file one of the nubs on the bulb base, and it worked great. With the Harley license bracket and lights everything looks the same from the rear.

    I bought mine from extremerevolution.com.

    Good luck

  14. I installed the Steibel chrome air horn in place of the existing horn on an 06 Venture.

Carbon One's highly polished bracket added a bit of sparkle too. It is plenty loud enough to make those cell phone talking cagers take notice.

    Easy installation.
