We were planing a trip to do the Skyline drive, the Blue Ridge Pkwy and going west to Menphis, but with the dollar exchange rate near 30%, we are reconsidering this because we were looking to a two to three weeks riding ie: +/- 5000 kms. So we will travel in Canada

As you are from Québec, i would simply suggest you to follow the MOTO-PRO course given by the FMQ (federation motocycliste du Québec. I have own up to now 3 first gen. and each time I change my bike i do follow it it is only +/- $100 , it is given on full day, either saterday or snuday and at the end of the day you can do an eight figure in a four parking lot space. [What happens when you hit a Deer!]

I think I still own the record. Killing 2 deers in one shot, around 9.30PM and I was back on a motorcycle the next morning without a single scratch. IMHO you must climb back on one ASAP in order of not being afraid in the future

[What gas mileage do you get ?]

I,m living +/- 40 miles north of the Vermont border & i just made my first rides of the season these past days. I ride a 1985 Venture. Up to now this season my average is 5.98 liters/100 km. which is think is not too bad. For your info there is still a lot of snow in the bushes and in the fields. All the ski slope in the area are in full operation
