Sounds like the thread and nut portion at the U-joint sheared. I have come across a couple repairs like that on customers bikes.

I had a Utopia on my "89 and I would recommend highly.Bit of a pain installing but it was worth it.(they will do the install for you too,guess you have to send or bring it to them)

Not really worth the bother.Just bought a set of wheel bearings for my '89 from "Canadian Bearings" $30 Can.

The brass pin wears down and should be replaced.
Part # are for 84-93 , prices are online just to give you ballpark prices
