  1. Question: Why the BMW? Have been looking at them as well. They seem to have final drive issues in some. :mo money: I have been looking at some that have had this replaced. Reading that most people that are riding them really like them. I rode one for about three hours and I must say was impressed. Especially in the twisties.

  2. When I read this on Motorcycle Daily, my thoughts were that BMW again goes the high tech way. By putting this first in their tourer, I think they are throwing down the gauntlet to the rest of the touring community. However, I think it really is a shot across the bow to Honda. Looks interesting, but I bet it will be $$$$.. Not much wider that a inline 4, with low end grunt.

  3. Just read about the new concept from BMW. Looks like they are going to introduce a inline6 with the first version to be a tourer. Wonder how Yamaha is going to react to this one, with Honda going to introduce a new wing as well? Not sure that the V4 in the present state will fly, even with a detuned V-Max. The Strat platform just does not seem to make sense, unless they are trying to recoup investment.

  4. Thanks for the responces. The one that I looked at is a deep red in color and has some "bling". Asking price is $6800. Also has frame supports for bags that he is throwing in the mix. Real clean, lots of chrome. 17000 miles. Going to test ride tomorrow after work. Only thing I would add would be a shield. Anybody know how the better half would feel on the back?:happy65:

  5. Was wondering if anyone has any experience with a 2006 Road Star? Just looking at one this weekend for sale, good price and low miles. Pros or Cons? Thanks in advance as I am sure I will receive an education.

  6. Thanks, Squidley and Hipshot. Found out my last son "borrowed" sockets to work on his bike and friends helped themselve to sockets. Now his allowance is going to take a hit. I told his Mom I was going to take him to beach and make him a "sugar cookie". Needless to say the better half did not like that idea.

    Thanks again.
