  1. I take a lot of friends on many rides, but this is the favorite for most.

    Driving Distance: 216 miles

take US-54 East for 30.2 mi

Turn RIGHT (East) onto SR-E (Very twisty)

Turn LEFT (North) onto SR-B [Route B] for 3.8 mi

Turn onto SR-M [Route M] for 6.7 mi (Tight sweepers with great vistas)

Take Ramp (RIGHT) onto US-50 for 6.2 mi towards Bonnets Mill

Bear LEFT (North) onto SR-A [Highway A] for 5.7 mi (Twisty and vistas)

This will take you to Bonnots Mill, which is off the route, but worth the detour. When you've looked around town backtrack up the hill to SR-C [Highway C] turn left on C.

Continue straight onto SR-100 [Highway 100] (Again twisty with vistas)

This will take you to Hermann through German country.

Bear LEFT (North-East) onto SR-19 [state Route 19 S] for 0.8 mi to go into downtown Hermann for lunch.

When your ready to leave town, most want to look around for a while, head South on MO-19

Turn RIGHT (West) onto SR-F for 1.8 mi

Turn LEFT (South-West) onto SR-W for 5.6 mi

Turn LEFT (South) onto SR-K [Highway K] for 0.1 mi

Turn RIGHT (West) onto US-50 [Highway 50 E] for 4.6 mi

Turn LEFT (South) onto MO-A [Highway U] for 0.2 mi

Go west onto SR-28 until to reach Belle.

Just past Belle. turn RIGHT onto SR-42 which will take you back to Osage Beach. The first part of this is twisty that straightens out into long sweepers.

You can rush, but most of this is (you guessed it) twisty and very, very rural, so don't expect to make good time, but have a camera at the ready, its beautiful and a popular route. Enjoy

  2. Aimhigh,

What are you looking for. I can give you hundreds of miles of great roads in the area. I'll be happy to send you some routes, if you'll tell me what you want. Hour long trips, all day rides, etc. Do you have microsoft streets and trips or a Garmin? If so, I can send you some great trips.

  3. I have the EXO 900 and used a standard J&M boom mic headset from my previous ARAI. Works fine. I did have to make a slight mod to run the boom mic. I'll try to take a pic and post it later this weekend. It works both with and without the full-face, which I take off for summer.

  4. Last weekend, I noticed a mysterious red light come on when I rev limited in 2nd gear. I'd never seen it before, and the manual was inconvenient. So I checked the oil level and was shocked to see that it was at the bottom of the sight glass, and looked rather black.

I just changed the oil, and it was black and nasty. Clearly, she burned oil since the last change (about 4000 miles ago). I changed her oil just before my trip to Zion National Park, Four Corners, etc. I towed a trailer on that trip, so 3500 miles of those 4000 were towed.

She's never burned any oil (except when I overfilled her, before I realized she took less than the manual). She just rolled over 50,000 miles.

What causes a bike to burn oil?

    Dave

If its an 06 take it back to the dealer while its still under warranty!

  5. I donno...:confused07: Anyone???

Mine came off an "06 and I was told that they were supposed to have converters, but they didn't. Left in stock form you would be able to see a about an 1/8" hole of light, if they're like mine. There are threads on how you can modify them for a little bit more sound and I have.

  6. I've lived in MO my whole life and there used to be 3 of those over the Gasconade river near our farm. One had a curve in the middle and occasionally in the summer, when you couldn't see the other end one vehicle would have to back off the bridge to allow the other to cross. They looked just like the ones pictured.

The cave. now a restaurant, was once on our family's property. My grandparents went on their 1st date to a dance in the cave.

    Thanks for the memories.
