  1. I have a 2004 Mazda 3 5 door hatch back. It is pretty zippy. I get about 21 mpg with it. I have had the lower belt pully freeze and a motor mount break ( fixed under warranty) at 50k. I have about 62k on it and it runs great. The only other thing is the low profile tires need changing at 20k. I have put Pirellis on it and they handle really good and are quite. The car is tight, no squeaks etc...

  2. After a 2200 mile last week on my 06 RSTD, I realized either I got the wrong bike or I can't do long rides. Primarily my hind-end got the best of me...I hate to give in to defeat but, I think I'm only good for two tanks of gas. One to get there and one to get back. My hat is off to you guys that can ride all day, everyday. As far as seating, I've tried the mustang and currently riding on the comfort-cruise with a utopia back rest. I made the mistake of telling my wife I wanted to try a goldwing next and she said I was in denial, lol.

Try the Corbin. I can ride all day

  5. A guy at work just sold his V-Star and told me today he's looking for a bike like mine. I told him I would post on here and see if anyone has one for sale.

I know sometimes I see what I think are bargains posted on here, but I haven't been in the market, so I don't usually pay much attention. Just so you'll know, we are in East TN. and he's looking for a bargain.

  6. OK....this new Zumo 550 has really complicated my life. :) It has caused me to have to make more decisions and I'm tired of making decisions.

So here is the latest dilemma. I presently have a Sirius radio. I actually have three of them. One in the house, one in my wife's car and one that I move back and forth between the bike and my work car. It makes no sense to me to pay for a fourth subscription to have different ones on the bike and my work car as I only use one of them at a time.

I like the idea though of having the GPS, MP3 and Satellite radio in one unit and therefore not having my IPOD, Sirius AND the GPS until all cluttering up my handlebars.

I've already found out that even though Sirius and XM are now the same company, they will not let you add an XM subscription to your Sirius account and therefore get it at the reduced rate. So...I would have to get a new XM account to use the XM for the Garmin. Then I would want to cancel the Sirius account for my car/bike but then would not have a unit for my work car.

So..after all this...I guess my question is has anybody tried using the Zumo with the XM receiver in a car? Will the antenna pick up the stations if it is on the dash or somewhere in the car?

This is ALL so dang confusing. :confused24:

Not to mention they are pretty proud of that antennae/receiver for the Zumo $$$$:mo money::mo money::mo money:

  7. Now that you mentioned it, I thought something along the same Line, but was hesitant to come up with that. But you also have to see what they aiming at ...

  8. Maybe I expected more but my DSL runs like a snail. It's better then dial up most of the time. We switched when it became available about 18 months ago. It's 5:00 am and it's running at full speed 1250 KB upload 325 KB download. Thats not screaming but compared to 56 K its fast. At least we can run multiple machines now.I notice of an evening after work it starts slowing down 800K,600K 400k 225k are the norms every day. Sometimes it drops to 75K upload and about 25k download. This really ticks me off. It's not the kids hogging the bandwidth on the other machines either. I can put up with rebooting the speed stream router twice everyday when my wireless connection drops. Thats on my route to the coffee pot anyway. I can even tolerate a total DSL outage for 48 hours twice a month because storms went through the southen part of the state 100 miles south of me ( we didn't get any). I have called tech support more times then I can remember and it's the same thing. They issue a ticket number some computer tweeker checks it from his office and nobody comes to the field.I would like to see them replace the router and at least admit that someone else has this problem with slow speeds but no luck. We live 12 miles from the C/O so maybe I'm on the outer limits being in a rural area? The only thing running fast (always on time) is that $45 a month bill.

Have you tried bypassing your router and connecting directly to your DSL modem to see if it is faster? If it is then there may be some setting in router that is not correct. You may need to tweak your mtu packet size to work. Someone mentioned dslreports they can tell you what needs to be tweaked on your system.
