  1. Thanks for the info.

the sealed beam lamps are PAR36 size.

    ... snip ...

What beam shape do you want???????????? Wide, or narrow????? I like about 11 degrees wide to show the ditches, but I like about 5 degrees wide or narrower for driving.

Lots of renegade whitetails up here - what beam shape will be best for deer avoidance at night - wider for the ditches or narrower to see farther?

Can the RSV electrical system handle the 50W version or must I use the 35W??

    Regards,

    John

  2. Good Morning!

I have a 2004 RSV with the factory light bar / driving lights. [The sealed beam lights]

I know I asked the group the question about replacing the lights to get more light output before, but I can't find the thread or the answer ...

Someone from this group told me about replacement sealed beam lights that are brighter than the factory lights, about the same wattage, and nearly plug and play.

UH, they were from .... ?????

    J & S, J & P, I don't recall and can't find it here or even with a google search.

    Thanks!

  3. My wife & I got to take one for a nice test drive.

It is a smooth running machine. Comfortable seating but LESS room than our RSV.

IF you can believe the bike's electronics, we were running between 48 & 50 MPG.

Handling was great. Lighting - with HID headlight superb.

It is hotter than the RSV, LOTS of engine heat.

My wife did NOT like it as much as our RSV -- she had wind buffeting which ranged from annoying with the windshield all the way up to severe with it all the way down. She did not like the smaller passenger area -- on the RSV she can move forward if she wants to be close or move back if she wants to stretch our -- on the Vision she was stuck in one place.

I thought she'd really like it because of the bun warmers and modern styling. IF it were as comfortable as the RSV for her to ride on I'm sure she would have.

Sure wish the RSV had one of those HID headlights to help see the deer.

  4. We need to keep in mind that most every Vet will tell you the only heroes lie under the white Cross Of Jesus Christ or white Star of David in a US Military Cemetery.

Every other Vet just did his job and was lucky enough to come home. Yes it is sad they are reaching the time in their lives when they are being called home.

An even greater reason for us to become involved and concerned, willing to carry on the legacy and torch they handed down to us.

Don't count out modern GIs, they are every bit the heroes our Dad's, uncle's, and grandfather's were.

May God Bless The United States and place the hands of His protection around the members of our Armed Forces. May He return us to One nation Under Him.
