I too could not deal with a numb butt any longer. Lucky to find out about ultimate seats, bought it, fits perfect, looks great, an I dont have the numb butt any more.

My 98TD was on the left side, close to the top of the radiator,I didn't like it. I relocated it to the right side panel below the drivers seat, I like it there. It matches the seat key lock on the left side panel. I fabed a bracket to locate it there, and extended the wires back to it.

Another advantage is, fewer parts, joints, gaskets, etc. which means, no leaks.

I have full bub exhaust on my 98 rs , they was too too quiet. I drilled out the (2) pop rivets, twisted the exhaust tips back & forth until the whole baffle unit comes out. These slip-ons are baffle from one end to the other. I shortened mine a little at a time, replacing it with a straight pipe, until the baffle was gone. Bike sounds pretty good. Also these pipes come with insulation. Hope this helps.

I just finished a winter bike project and am very happy with the results. I have a 98 RSTD, had it a couple of years. The valve guides started leaking and puffing out smoke once in a while. I liked the bike but didn't like the smoke and I wanted a little more zip. I bought a 2004 RSV engine/trans, 2007 RSV carbs, bub full exhaust, Dyna 3000, K&N pods and some other goodies. I also bought a bike stand from Carbon One (which worked perfect) and started tearing it down Thanksgiving week. I searched for and studied everything I could find, especially the wisdom of venture riders. A special thanks to my brother Pete who listened to my challenge every day, for the knowledge given to my by Freebird and Pegscraper, and others who have posted tech help. I don't have any pictures yet, but am working on them.
