  1. I also bought a 09 Ultra this past June. Fits my long inseam much better than my 89 VR.

Like both bikes for different reasons. The Ultra is for cruzin' and the VR is my go fast tour bike.

I had a 05 Kawasaki Nomad which I had a blast on also, that being said, just get out there and ride! Enjoy all the new people you meet.

  2. RonHenry I purchased a HJC IS-33 this past fall and am pleased so far.

Try one on before ordering on line as this helmet is a bit snugger than the other HJC line of helmets. The RED piping may cause a little discomfort on the forehead which can be corrected by simply tapping the raised ridge with a hammer to slightly take the raise out of the piping.

The ear pieces on my glasses were snug at first but as the interior padding conforms to my head shape it is no longer a problem.

The drop down sun visor is great...enough said on that.

Ventilation is good and the helmet is not as noisy as others I use.

And lastly read and watch the video...

  4. I am thankful that in my circle of riding buddies both male and female, of which ride Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Dukati, Yamaha, Bmw, Harley, Triumph, BSA etc. All treat me the same regardless if I am on the 89 Venture or 09 Ultra Classic.

We have all gone to many different events together and had a great time.

It should not matter what your preference of motorcycle just the fellowship of good friends getting together.

I always wave at all bikes even the mopeds......just enjoy the ride

    Regards Dave

  5. Just spoke to the owner and he lives in PA. The Maryland Ebay address is his sisters account.

The bike has a clear title and was laid over on the right side. The right saddlebag support is bent.

Trunk, windshield, saddlebag and fairing have been replaced.

He is selling because he has purchased a Tour Deluxe. He stated his color choice was poor.

The bike is located in Hyndman,PA

  6. We welcomed a 6lb 12 ounce 20 " baby boy yesterday at 11:12 am. Conner was taken by emergency C section once Ashley dilated to 10 cm and the babies heart rate started to fall. It was under 2 minutes from the time of the rate drop until the baby was out. Conner will spend the next 7 days in ICU for watching and Ashley is due to be released this coming Sunday if the doctors can get her blood pressure to stabilize. She is not happy since she has not yet seen the baby and knowing the baby must stay in ICU after she is released from the hospital. . Her husband, Coby, saw the baby for the first time this morning and may be allowed to feed him later this evening. Even with all the complications the doctors feel everything looks positive. It has been a hard 3 days for Ashley and Coby and the rest of the family and many friends.

Thanks again for all the prayers and positive thoughts during this frightening time.

Regards Dave and Denise and the new parents Coby and Ashley

  7. Holy Cow Dave!

Both Jean and I are shocked to hear this news! We truly hope that all goes well for your daughter. If there is anything we can do for you, please let us know. We are willing to help any way we can. I am a universal blood donor, (O pos) if blood is needed, please let me know. ( Of course this would me we would be "Blood Brothers" then)

Your family is in our thoughts and prayers,

    Earl and Jean

Thanks Earl/Jean I grabbed my lap top as I headed to the hospital it is my therapy source now. Denise rode in the ambulance with Ashley. My plate is full now as I sent you a message earlier about my father finding he has cancer. After some scans He is to start radiation and I must take him to The University of Maryland Medical Center Friday near Baltimore. Will keep you updated.

On top of all that a Nor'easter is heading our way and Kayla (daughter attending Coastal Carolina University) is trying drive home before the storm hits.

As always I will climb over one hump at a time and get through this!

    PS..blood brothers would be cool....:stickpoke:

  8. Ashley is doing as well as can be expected . She had her breakfast (clear liquids) and is trying to get some more sleep.

She is 1 1/2 cm and her mucas plug is out. They are going to break her water sometime this afternoon.

Her platelet count is finally up today so they are going to lower the magnesium drip they are giving her. The mag counteracts the potossin slowing the natural contraction and thinning process making the dilation slower.

She has had two steroid shots to boost the babys lungs. The wrapped cord is still a concern she is being watched closely and a C section may be performed if needed.

Yes to a previous post, this is Ashley's first baby.....

    Thanks for the prayers!

    Dave

  9. Spent the night With my daughter Ashley and husband Coby at Conemaugh in Johnstown, Pa were she was taken by ambulance after a ultra sound indicated that the cord was wrapped around the baby's neck 4 times. Was later told the last weeks U S showed the cord being wrapped 3 times but did not tell her. They have diagnosed her with preeclampsia which she had early signs of and they had been testing her for two weeks before. Her blood pressure is high, too much protein in the urine, her platelets are too low and they are giving her magnesium for that.

That being said, the Dr's. are trying to delay things until this evening with hopes the lungs will develop more with the help of yet another IV (steroid) added to the 5 others. This is her first pregnancy and she and her husband are frightened.

They are prepared to do an emergency C if momma or baby have too much distress. They do need a lot of prayers!

    Regards Dave

  10. I have progressive and after a two week getting used to moving the head to align the target, or looking straight onto, I like them. The benefit, my opinion, is the fact they are a truly multifocal lens. Instead of a fixed lens giving only two real focal points.

If your doctor measures your eyes correctly, which a lower cost doctor had not in my case, you will find with very little head movement every thing is clear from near to far. The lens is like a hour glass in the center and the viewing area varies in reference to the size and shape of the glasses you choose.

Another reminder of you get what you pay for!
