Well..this is where the how's and where'for's of Mama Yama, is weird to say the least. Here I was told (yeah..I was told a LOT OF THINGS over those 7 months..."cough, cough, B.S.! cough, cough...) that my bike was on a slow boat from Japan...and was the last of 4 coming off the line.
Well then...there were ONLY 45 SVTC's made...for my V.I.N ends with 042! So....the Yama Mama B.S. is so thick about why they had to pull back for three months...WHO they sent out SVTC's to in the pre-delivery program...and how did they come off the line, and then get assigned to that pool. Obviously, my SVTC was the 42nd SVTC off the production line.
I think there was a LOT of shenaniggans going on in the background that we all will never find out the real, or whole story about the SVTC reveal, and delayed launch. You guys are all reporting taking delivery of bikes in the 600's...and here I have one off of the line, just after the line started moving....
Mine wasn't far behind at 216

Here is a link to the Utopia Backrest. http://www.utpr.com/svt.html

How does it install on the seat, do you have to drill any holes? Does it bolt to the under lying frame of the bike?
It bolts in two places that's all I can tell you have not taken it apart to look

Just talked to Bob at utopia and gave him my review of the backrest, he said they will start making them for the Venture, the angle adjuster will move the backrest enough when you pull the butt stop part out to be comfortable, give the a call or email then about availability
-
Well have about 200 miles on the new backrest and what a difference going tobe really nice on my14 day trip in June

I do have to curse you because I already bought the tall back rest if I knew you had this deal going I would have waited and just bought the utopia.
I will try the tall Yamaha one and if it is not enough then I will spring for the utopia.
I have the tall one also, make you a deal on it

Bob emailed me back and and said that your seat is being shipped today! He said that once it’s jnstalled and he gets some feedback that all is well, he will create the webpage for ordering for the SVTC.
My seat shipped Tuesday, it shows out for delivery today

I just emailed them as well. They are going to wonder why all the interest.

They already know, told Bob at Utopia I knew of a lot of guys wanting a backrest, not sure if they have them ready yet but the hard part is finished.

Looks good. I’ve had Utopia backrests on a couple of other bikes and was very pleased with them. It doesn’t look like it will work with the Yamaha 8” backrest so if I get one of these i’ll need to go back to the stock backrest I guess...
That is correct, won't work with the tall backrest

it turns off the traction control, push and hold until yellow icon appears on dashIn the photo of your dash the two rubber covered push buttons, I know the one of the left resets the trip computer but I can't find anything on the one on the right or if it is just a dummy button.Does the right one do anything?

I well post more pics after I get it on the.

Nice, I had a utopia back rest and seat on my 2013 Victory Cross Country Tour.
Does this back rest flip forward so the passenger can get on?
Yes just flips forward,
