    BLOOMINGDALE — The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department says an 18-year-old Bloomingdale man is dead after his motorcycle struck a large bird Monday afternoon.

     

    Police say 18-year-old Dillon Reed was driving eastbound on County Road 380, east of 39 ½ Street in Bloomingdale.

    Police say a large turkey buzzard flew across Reed’s path and hit him in the chest. The impact caused him to lose control of his motorcycle.

    Reed went off the road and struck several trees. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

    Reed was not believed to be speeding and was wearing a helmet. Alcohol is not a factor in this crash.

    What Yammer says is so true for me. Can't see orange golf balls in green grass. I'm red/green color blind, so pastels are a mystery. I get to enjoy a 3 color rainbow. I hate it when they color instruments with red. Gimme lime or blue and I am a happy camper. those I can see great. I put white LED strips on my blue RSV, and they reflect blue, and I LOVE it.:dancefool:

    Riding to Missouri and Arkansas

    Monday, four of us from Biker Church of the Heartland are riding from Plymouth, Indiana to Salem Missouri, then Hatfield Arkansas, riding some roads there, back to Salem Thursday, and then back to Plymouth on Friday. Hope the weather gives us a blessing and not rain. Two Gold wings, One Yamaha Stratoliner and my '07 RSV. :Venture:

    Yeah, being color blind is fun. Is that wire red, green, black, brown or grey? And don't throw an orange golf ball down on green grass, because it will be there until Jesus comes back, because I can't find it.

     

    I hate it when instrument indicators are red! I can't see that little thing at all. Give me amber, or blue, and I'm happy as a pig in mud. And those 3 color rainbows are boring.

     

    I guess "normal" people who design those red lights don't think about what a conundrum they present to the rest of us folks.:yikes:

    Thanks guys, you are awesome. I'm in Indiana and my cousin and bike are in San Antonio, so it may be a while to get some answers to and from him. This is a start.

     

    We did have time to tear into the thing before I had to head home last week. We did check the solder issue on the dash display module, but found nothing obvious there. It may well be the switch itself. If I recall, the PO said that he had applied 12v from battery to hi beam side of lamp and it lit up. Must be something electrical in between lamp and switch.

     

    I'll try to keep ya posted on progress, if any. My cousin is a neophyte at biking, and it is his first one. This should keep him busy for a while.

    need answer to question on 90 venture

    90 venture high beam will not work. when hi beam switch is pressed, the headlight lamp on dash lites up, and the entire dash dims. Checked the headlight bulb and it is good.

     

    Where do we go from here? Could it be the switch itself? Its my cousin's bike, and he's trying to get it registered in San Antonio. Bought the bike in Indiana, and it was delivered to him.

     

    Thanks for any help/advice in solving this issue.

     

    If anyone lives near Mico Texas, and can help that would be cool.

     

    Its his first bike, so he's a bit at a loss here.

    I have the WOLO on my 2007 RSV. Used it Saturday on a guy who thought he'd pull out in front of me without looking. He did a nice four-wheel lockup on his cage. Dunno how long it took him to remove the seat cushion from his nether region. PRICELESS!:dancefool:

    That scientist said if they took 10% of New Mexico to make an algae field, it would supply all America's oil needs. Wonder why we can't take ALL of Washington DC and make an algae field of it. think how much $$ that would save us!:dancefool:

    I found an inexpensive bag that will fit in the side bags of my 07 RSV, at KMart. it is 22 inches long, 10 inches wide and 12 inches tall. its about 4 inches taller than necessary, but will work well as a quick clothes carrier if you want one. I paid $9.99 for it, and found it in the sports bag/backpack area of KMart. Its made by North Pak Duffel, and comes in blue, green and yellow. Its 600 denier polyester.:thumbsup:
