    I am new to the web site. I too have a 83' with the clunk. Have had the head set apart twice and repacked the bearings and shimmed with extra washers. Still bad. Do the bearings really wear that much , or do you think the springs are it? It does not seem to bottom out , so I think it seems to be bearings. Would like some advice. Thanks.
