  1. i found the culprit its the retaining brackets that hold the sockets in the reflectors but every time i seem to get them working as soon as i try to button her up she goes right back to same old tricks are those metal clips actually necessary?
  2. ok guys first i want to say thank you i did as you suggested and found my short it was in the front turn signals. I disassembled the lights and found numerous bad wiring so i replaced all the wiring reassembled the unit reinstalled the light bar and voila same damn problem an 3 out of 4 of the positive wires. ??????????????????????????????????????
  3. believe me i do understand this has been an electrical night mare I do know this system like the back of my hand now but for some reason I have gone completely brain dead on how to track down shorts i've been staring at this way to much and way to long
  4. im sorry i forgot a very important fact. when my buddy customized it he got rid of all the fairing the cruise the radio and carb heaters so to get all the safety bypasses to work the wiring is basically a 98 royal star and as i have had to change all the wiring as i went thru the bike i kept it a 98 new loom and all this is one of the main reasons im having so much trouble
  5. I am new here and am in dire need of some advice! I purchased a custom 99 rsv from a buddy and the bike rode great. A couple months ago some idiot tried to hot wire the bike and when he couldn't do it just tore the bike apart. I had to change out the main switch battery and most of the wiring. I just recently did the bypass on the main switch and everything seemed ok but now i seem to have continuity between my yellow wire to ground on headlight and red/black to ground on main harness i cant seem to track down the short any advice would be greatly appreciated.
