Bought Widder this year and have been great. Used the hunters hand warmers up till now. I put one in each boot, one in each glove and one in each of my inner fleece pockets. I also kept a few extra in my trunk, they only last 3 hours.

I use a Garmin 350 in my car. I use it also on my Venture. I just slip it in my tank bag clear map holder. Us one of those adapters for the tape deck and plug it into the acc devise plug. No hassle and works fine.

Hi All,
I know that some of the readers have mentioned fogging of the windshield. I had the difficulty a few times since buying the Venture. I rounded a curve in the fog and the curve seemed to catch all the moisture and put it on the inside of my windshield. Since I have a stock height windshield, this was not good. I had been a scuba diver in the early years. I went to a dive shop and purchased a produce called Sea Quick. It is an anti fog spray for diving masks. It cost $6.95 for tow ounces. I used it last week and it was terrific. I rode through the fog with now loss of vision. I used it on the inside and the outside. It did not rain that day so I do not know how it will work in the rain, but the heavy fog was cured. I will keep this in my trunk.

I have the Barron's risers. They helped me with the upper back discomfort. I am 6 feet even. Might not be enough for you. Also lowered the front end That was great, improved handling and gave me better grip when pushing backwards and easier up off the side stand.

After all the wrentch options are tried, maybe try the Dyna Beads. They advertize on the site. That is how I read about them. I want to try them myself. They claim a very smooth ride.

One difference between the trike and sidecar is the ability to make eye contact. Being able to see each others face may make your rides more memorable.

Most of us have made some modifications to the Venture to improve handeling. Some change the front tire, some add leveling links, I went the route of lowering the front end. After I made the modification, I had to look back to see if my wife was still on. That is how different it felt.

If you are going to do a lot of 2 up, over night, bed and breakfast type of riding, the Venture is a good choise. Comfort for the pasenger, extra storage smooth, maybe the intercom.

I bought my 06 new when changing from a Vulcan. I have been riding since 69. I found the Venture cumbersome and thought I made a mistake with the purchase. After reading the posts on this website, I tried the method of increasing handling that did not cost cash for parts. I lowered the front end by one inch. My Venture is improved so much that I do not plan to change. It was very noticable immediatly. Slo prking lot mauverability improved and two up contor was much better. In fact the first time I took my wife after the proceedure, I had to look back to make sure she was still there! I will be switching tires soon, but the lowering costs nothing if you do it yourself.

Hi All,
I have found that my hand is too big to change the headlamp bulb. I just can not reach it. I tried going on the left side above the headlight adjustment knob. Has anyone found an easy way to do this?

Yep, it is under the right side lower cowling. Unscrew the three bolts ( two in the front of the cowling and one behind it). There is also a plastic conector under the cowling where the right and left meet. Just turn that counter clockwise and the plastic will pop out a bit. Then pull at the spot where the two cowlings meet to pop out the rubber fastener. Once the cowlng is off, you can see the fuse box. You can not miss it, it is a box. Use two fingers and squeeze the top of the box and it will open. If it looks like there is electrical tape keeping it closed, cut it with a knife. All fuses are identified with markings on the box lid. What apain in the butt, just to change a fuse. Yamaha does not recommend increasing the size of the fuse, but I changed the 5 to a 10 because the 5 will burn out when I use my air pump. By the way, if you ever need to change the headlight fuse, it is under the left cowling.

I have been riding since 1967. Started with a 200 cc, moved to 350 cc and then the 1500 cc and then the venture. I realy needed the course between the 350 and the 1500cc, but did not take it. Wish I did. It was not the cc but weight of bike and I needed to break a few bad habits developed on the lighter bikes. When I bought the venture, I set up cones and practiced figure eight's and swerving, emergency stops and slow parking lot turns.
Bottom line, anyone who learned to ride on a small bike when there were no courses, might benifit from the course. My cousin is a Pa. trooper, I will find out if there is a civilian course available in Pa.

I was thinking of finding a short windshield so I could have both. Has anyone found a short shield.

Get it checked, but try keeping your rpm's up.
I have the 06 also. When I moved from the v twins, I needed to add a few rpm's by down shifting if the rpm dropped.
