2004 Royal Star Midnight Venture LCD replacement

Hi guys,

I just got this bike, and unfortunately it has sun damage on the LCD screen. I bought a used one of eBay and was trying to pull out the old one to replace lcd, but it's proving difficult to even get it out after splitting the fairing. The inner fairing is covering it and the frame won't let you pull it out sideways. I was able to pull out the cassette and radio, but it looks like the only way to get to the display it is to unmount the inner fairing so you can pull it back more. How do you get the frame out of the way, or how do you get the inner fairing loose? I see a couple of bolts on the front side of the inner fairing that looks super hard to get to due to the shocks and handlebars, but I'm not sure if they are what I need to get at.
