bluerstd08 Posted May 4, 2010 Share #1 Posted May 4, 2010 Ok, here is my first question. 1. Are the OEM airfilters able to be cleaned, or is it better to go ahead and just replace them? 2. As far as NGK-DPR7EIX-9 plugs are they really worth the extra? 3. Any one in eastern NC with a carbtune. I'll be looking to do this after the plugs and filters. The stealers want both my arms for what I've read is a 10-15 job. I've got 19000 miles in just under a year and with every service I'm getting more indepth and down and dirty with my 08rstd. Guest scarylarry Posted May 4, 2010 Share #2 Posted May 4, 2010 My stealer wanted 150.00 to do a carb sync. yea ok. I bought one from carbtune 100.00 read here on how to use it and did it myself no problem, great details and pictures here on how to do it.. Now every oil change I set or check... The hardest part it trying to get the wife to fetch you a beer while doing this:rotf::rotf:
bluerstd08 Posted May 4, 2010 Author Share #3 Posted May 4, 2010 I plan to purchase the carbtune, just seeing if there is anyone close that has one so I can see it done. I work better with visuals. I'm just simple like that.
hig4s Posted May 4, 2010 Share #4 Posted May 4, 2010 OEM filters are decent and can be cleaned a few times before being replaced. And I have 16,000 miles on my bike, just pulled them, and they really weren't dirty yet.
