another headset question

What I'm looking for is something so my wife and I can chat if we so desire. The problems is that we ride on two different bikes.

Are there any options out there that will allow us to talk to each other. She rides a Honda Shadow 1100 so the cb is not even an option.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

David

You might try the Interphone Bluetooth Helmet Kit from BlueAnt:

http://www.myblueant.com/interphone-motorbike-helmet-kit.htm

It's a fully-funtcional helmet-mounted BT headset. You can directly pair two Interphone headsets to serve as bike-to-bike intercom. I used this setup for quite some time before getting my RSV. The BT range is advertised at 490 feet, though my experience is that it's actually closer to 300 feet at best. You can pair the Interphone to your BT-enabled phone or to a BT GPS device (like Garmin's Zumo 550). I used it on the RSV with the Zumo for a while before reading about & purchasing the mic cable from BuddyRich. I have my plug-in headset on one helmet & the interphone on another. It all depends on who I'll be riding with (if they have CB, I use the wired connection; if it's one of my friends with an Interphone I use that for intercom purposes).

For best results, two other guys that I frequently ride with have the Interphone headsets. We each pair them to our own cell phone, then we start a 3-way phone call and start riding. Since we're all on the same carrier, the call is free -- and sometimes it's for 60 to 90 minutes! We don't have any range problems when we ride like this.
