WildBill1 Posted December 31, 2020 Share #2 Posted December 31, 2020 Maybe some day all these want to be revolutionist will get their basements and garages full so I can get some 9mm 147gn XTP reloading bullets for home defense purposes. I even use those for taking back yard deer. Head shoot fat does they usually drop like a rock.
Condor Posted January 3, 2021 Share #3 Posted January 3, 2021 Thanks for that video Scott. Makes my heart go pitter pat... Especially while listening to the Beach Boys in the back ground... :-) I think the big problem is folks looking for something special... Maybe it's time they all went back to 22LR, '06, 308, and 270win.. Guess I'm as guilty as the rest when looking for 45-70gov, 44-40, 38-40, 32-20, etc... You are more than welcome @Condor,, I knew you of all people would really appreciate it .. Made my heart jump for joy and do the pitter patters too,, I totally get that! One of the things I really still do not get is what you are leading too, I get the 556/308/300 black out and even the 22lr but,, 30-30? Jack, I am holding a box of 30/30 shells in my hand that are marked $8.97,, something I picked up a few years ago so my daughter could touch off a few rounds in my Savage 340C. I was shocked to see a box of them at a gun shop a couple weeks ago for $87.50... That would be $87.50 for 20 rounds LOL. I reckon that is why another gentleman drove from Detroit over to our home in Muskegon to pick up the last 5 boxes of 556 I had forgot I had for my AR.. This was on New Years Day, during one of @Flyinfool 's infamous WWW white outs and the cheerfully handed me 50 bucks for them while mumbling Detroit is out of ammo.. CRAZY!! Hey Jack, in a last ditch effort to hi-jack (HI JACK = pun intended) got some birthdays coming up,, any idea how bad 80's been doing thru Reno, Donnor and all places between your place and Sparks? All was well coming home but those hiway gates always cause me pause.. Puc
bpate4home Posted January 4, 2021 Share #5 Posted January 4, 2021 While the video provides assurances of manufacturing ammo the shortage itself is real. Demand is the issue, they cannot keep up with it. Demand is also why the cost is through the roof.

Lucky I got a pretty decent stock for the couple I have, I have been looking for a smaller Glock P43, 9mm, neither the gun nor ammo seems readily available. Slightly wider and grip longer, fits bigger hands much better than a 43 and has a 10+1 mag. I bought one a few months ago and is now my CCW go to.

I'd like to handle both actually, that seems darn near impossible. One reason for the P43, it would fit my wife better as well, and stow in her purse easier. But I do have larger hands, so 🤷♂️

If you legally own it you can conceal carry without permit. We’ve had CCW permits since the mid 90’s. Our permits also allow weapons besides guns. Brass knuckles, switchblades, saps, etc.

Wish we were closer to your reality than this world of socialism that Michigan has drifted into. I have a friend whose Dad was a Marine in WW2,, he has all his fathers battle gear including his Marine knife with brass knuckles attached that would be so awesome to carry but 100% not legal here,,, soooo cool though!! Hey ya lop eared freedom loving varmint,, can you Patriots down there still buy Switch Blades over the counter? Real ones? The Stiletto with the blade out of the front switch blade? THANK YOU FOR THE PIC OF THAT AWESOME SHOOTER CORPORAL NEWKIRK!! Puc Edited January 5, 2021 by cowpuc

Our permit is Concealed Carry Weapon, not just firearm. That WWII prize would be perfectly legal here. I went to Wally World this morning and saw a guy with a Glock on his belt with extra mags. Not many open carry but it’s legal, I’d rather people not know if I’m strapped or not. Edited January 5, 2021 by RDawson

DAWS I am 100% with you on the rather have them not know my brother BUT,, I am trying to promote a new movement up here.. I am promoting Jan 6, 2021 as our first NATIONAL OPEN CARRY DAY = a Patriots Holiday!! Just thinking how cool it would be to see Americans taking advantage of their Constitutional Right to Keep and Bear and also as a reminder to those who hate our way of life that there are still some ready/willing to defend it. I wish we could get Constitutional Carry here too brother!! Lots of Western States have it (not west coast), one of those things I ALWAYS appreciated about the west!! I throw a .38sp on my hip when out in the woods or messing around places I might kick up one of those rattle headed copper moccasins or such. I don’t think anything about stopping in for a sandwich or cold drink somewhere, people don’t pay attention out in the country stores but look at you a little funny in town with a shooter on your side. Most Leo’s around here encourage packing, they understand they’re usually minutes away when seconds matter.

I'm waiting on Indiana's next large gun show at the fairgrounds, I hear that is the place to get best deals, or any deals in todays market. Indiana is pretty friendly carry and sell/trade laws, my wife and I have a lifetime carry permits. Indiana not as friendly as KY.

All was well coming home but those hiway gates always cause me pause.. Puc.. The last ammo I picked up was 6 boxes of Rem 6mmBR for 89 bucks in an auction. The stuff retailed for 89 a box, and that's before this shortage... I can only imagine what it would go for now.. We all know I'm a collector, and not much of a shooter any longer, and with approx 70 guns in 15 different calibers in the collection, and having at least a box of ammo for each gun.. one can only imagine how much I have stashed all over the place... A lot of the ammo I picked up in quantity.. I bet I have 1/2 ton of the stuff... Speaking of 30-30 I must have 10-12 boxes laying around.. How 'bout 360 rounds of custom loaded 338RUM. The stuff retails for about $5-$6 per round. I bet there's 15 boxes of 7mmRemMag...Somewhere?? That's what happens when you start knocking on the big 80...you forget a lot.. One caliber I would like to find is 45LC. I have about 5-6 SAA's and not one round of LC. And every time I see some up for auction it's bid over retail... Humbling to say the least,,, 🙂 The big problem for me is living in kommiefornia... They have past so many laws here that the firearms hobby is tighter than a frogs a$$... I envy any one living in a conservative state. Jack
