Oily Spark Plug Threads?

Recommended Posts

Put in new plugs today & verified gaps.

Did a 10 mile test ride & bike ran great!

I then pulled those plugs to check condition & they seemed good with white tips.

I did notice the threads on the left side plugs were oily...while the right side threads were clean.

Is this normal? ok? Or what would it signify?

not yet it is too early to think past the flooding effects she just went thru. tho check the oil for reducing caused by gas migrating down the jugs....

I drained out some oil & it looked & smelled normal...but I'm thinking of just doing an oil change anyways.

After any flooding oil change is expected. The word should have read (reducing).

The thinner the oil the more creep it tends to have.

Just as a side bar: the viscosity and tolerances have effect on pressure as well as cushioning ;)
