trunk question

Recommended Posts

If the plastic is cracked, it is ABS so you can use ABS cement to repair it. Better solution is (I think it is called) plastex. Do a search for plastic repair and you'll find it. Not cheap but does a really nice repair as it bonds the plastic back together. ABS cement will dry out over time and would be 2nd choice.

Is there any adverse effect on removing the "stop" from the rear trunk? i.e. plastic cracking at the hinge. I put my work bag in the trunk and it does not lift far enough up for me to not wedge my bag into it. Thanks

If you are talking about the arm then no there is no problem with having it removed. I haven't had one on for several years now.

My Victory Cross Country had a cable on one side. When I added the rack I felt it added enough weight once over center it needed another cable. So I made one with a couple eyes for wiring and some 12ga wire. Just don't like the idea of the hinge being the stop.
