Statussymbol Posted August 14, 2017 Share #1 Posted August 14, 2017 Is there any adverse effect on removing the "stop" from the rear trunk? i.e. plastic cracking at the hinge. XV1100SE Posted August 14, 2017 Share #3 Posted August 14, 2017 If the plastic is cracked, it is ABS so you can use ABS cement to repair it. Better solution is (I think it is called) plastex. Do a search for plastic repair and you'll find it. Not cheap but does a really nice repair as it bonds the plastic back together. ABS cement will dry out over time and would be 2nd choice. When I added the rack I felt it added enough weight once over center it needed another cable. So I made one with a couple eyes for wiring and some 12ga wire.
