XV1100SE Posted April 23, 2015 Share #1 Posted April 23, 2015 After I had some chrome work done on my bike (battery side covers and the plastic piece in front of the battery box), David (The Tooch) asked me about getting his air intakes done. These are the black plastic air intakes that come with the 2nd Gen. They turned out great ! As a first run I was able to get them done for $200 (cash, no tax). After doing them, because prep took longer than expected, any future ones would be $250 (incl tax). Check out their "hydra chrome" too. http://superchrome.ca/hydra_chrome.php From looking into this, there are several products on the market now. I've posted what the chromed intakes look like but here are the old and "new" side by side. I'm sure David will post pics once he gets them on his bike. They look great ! Start with a fine sanding of the plastic air intakes then there are 3 coatings that are applied to get the finish. Can be done over a couple days. They look great. The Tooch Posted July 12, 2018 Share #20 Posted July 12, 2018 Oh! Those were so Purdy! Bling! Bling! Originally I had them on my 2005 but that bike got written off. I was able to save the air intakes and took them off and kept them for my 2013. When I traded in the 2013, I took them off and sold them to Wayne (Wizard765) so they are still out there on his 2000 M. This is my 2013, they really stood out on the black bike.........
