It does work. Just the way you described. If you download the manual it shows everything pretty clearly. Hardest for me was getting clearance under the trunk to pull the canister. Not really hard, I just didn't want to do it.

I used desiccant from inside boxes that contain merchandise; you know that stuff they don't want you to eat? "DO NOT EAT" on those little envelopes... everytime I see one I have an irresistible urge to eat one....you can get desiccant at Wal-Mart or other like stores....

I've done mine a number of times. Hardest part is emptying the trunk and taking it off! As I recall, you push down on the top of the desiccant can and remove a retainer. I believe there is a spring in there too.

When you get the desiccant out, just put it in a bowl and put that in the microwave for 30 seconds a pop. When it all changes color (blue to pink or pink to blue :confused24: I'm old and forget!) it is done.
