Seeking 1983-1993 VIN for a comprehensive database

Recommended Posts

HI Kevin, My 1986 VR VIN# JYA1NL00 X GA002801

Built 3/86

Mileage 39255.4

Sure appreciate this place - it's been a big help to me!

Thank you, Randy for the info.

It appears that you may have the last or nearly the last 1986 built. The March 1986 build date is by far the latest I have seen for an '86. My database currently shows no higher serial number for a 1986. Interesting.

My 83 standards VIN is JYA26H005DA000240. Mfg. date is 1/83. Mileage reads 26581 but the odometer is broken. There's probably another 5,000 on it. I just purchased an odometer off of e- bay and if possible will set it at 32000. Hope this helps.

1984 Royale JYA41V001EA001134 New Ruby Red/Romanesque Crimson about 8K mi. (bike is currently stored, can send build date in Spring).

Will send you a pm....would appreciate a copy of the list.

Bike isn't running, but I'm told it could have the 2nd gear issue.

Kevin, I just checked the build date on my bike....says 11/83.

Thanks for putting this together.

Pat

THANK YOU, BJ!:ice_thy-vi101212101

Yours is the first 1983 Canadian Standard (31H) to be entered in the database.:canada:

The VIN is completely different from any other North American Ventures. The European VIN are similar, except those begin with '47G', but like yours, there is no year code or check digit. I wonder if that is unique to the Maritimes? You guys are closer to Europe.

The headstock stamp on the frame actually has '000399' twice? Interesting.:scratchchin:

Made my day!:You_Rock_Emoticon:

(I know, I know, I'm a little anal and weird.)

Pretty sure it is. The registration paperwork also has it twice. I'll look again when I get another chance. Reading it backwards in the inspection mirror is a PITA.

Weird? Nah, takes all kinds to make the world go 'round.

Started that way but PO stripped all the royale stuff off of his other venture and put it on the '88. What years had the two tone grey? I think he said his other bike was an 86. Anyway, it has all the Royale stuff including all the Ventureline safety chrome.
