Lug Nuts

I think they are allen wrench lug nuts but not positive.

Not sure about the RSV though.

 

The wheels on the GL 1500, and the GL 1800 are a 4 x 100 bolt pattern with 38 mm offset. o 15” x 7” Mag wheels Kumho radial tires...but you didn't ask about Goldwings..:stickpoke:

I forgot to mention they are allen nuts so a wrench is of little help.

The largest allen wrench I have is way too small.

 

Need to call Hannigan, but I bet it's a #30.... Had to go buy one to replace the gas struts on the hatchback of my Firebird. Big sucker....

Not sure what kind of tools you have laying around in your garage but if you can, grind down the head of a nut to fit inside the Allen head lug nut.

 

Then attach TWO nuts to the shank of the bolt you just ground the head on.

Tighten one nut against the other aligning the edges of the nuts in line with each other as you lock them together.

You can use a long extension socket to ensure you have both nuts inside the socket and it should loosen/ tighten the lug nuts.

Note: If you have room on the shank of the grounded bolt use three nuts aligning all three as you tighten them

If you have a spot welder, you can just spot welds a nut to the shank of the grounded bolt.

 

You now have a make-shift hand made Allen wrench

 

 

Here is another way similar to above.

Find a LONG bolt that you could grind the head down to fit the Allen head lug nut

Grind the head down as needed to fit the lug nuts

Use vice grips on shank of long bolt to loosen or tighten lug nuts.

If the long bolt has room for three nuts tighten all three nuts together.

Use a wrench on the nut closest to the head of the bolt to loosen the lug nuts.

Use the nut closest to the end of the shank (farthest away from head of bolt) to tighten the lug nut.

 

Another (easiest/ quickest) way:

Grind the end of the SHANK, (the tip) of a long bolt down to fit the lug nut. Then use a socket on the head of the long bolt to tighten / loosen the lug nuts

If it was an emergency I would do that but it's not.

I'm just updating my tool box for when the time comes to do maintenance, I'll be ready.

Really, I thought you were in an emergency situation and was trying to get it fixed right now.

As mentioned above, take it down to any auto parts store and they will fix you right up with the correct socket head Allen wrench you need.

You should have gotten the lugnut wrench with the conversion, I'll check the size in the morning. The hannigan supplied one has a hex on the end to use with a lug wrench

Found the answer........

 

Carbon1 is correct.....

It is a #12 sized metric Allen socket.

Hannigan provides a tool that is that size with a 3/4" hex head and just under 3" long.

The hex end is so that you can attach a conventional lug wrench. You can buy a fold up type at one of the auto parts stores to keep in the trunk along with the tool

Hmmm, is there a compartment I haven't found it could be hid in?

Doesn't really matter anyway. I want one I can use with my torque wrench.

If you dont see it in either trunk, look under the top trunk carpet, it may be in there.
